I'm so excited! We just made all our reservations for our summer vacation. We are going to Universal first, staying at the Hard Rock Hotel from June 6-10. We have never stayed on sight and the whole family is sooo excited. Then we hop on over to Disney and stay at Pop Century from the 10-18. Now I hope we can get enough Disney while we are there. I think we will need a vacation to recupe after we get back. Just had to share with everyone! My family is tired of hearing it 20 times a day, "I'm soo excited!" If I say it again at home, I think I might get smacked.:duck: :jumping1:

:teeth: I'm so happy for you! I know exactly how you feel. I get the same way as soon as I book a Disney vacation. Actually, I get the same way just thinking about booking a Disney vacation ;) Hope you have a blast! I'm thinking about doing a combo Universal/Disney trip next June, so I'll be anxious to hear all about your trip.

That is awesome news!! I am so jealous too because I want to stay at Universal so bad!! LOL Next time we are in Florida, DH and I are planning on spending a few nights at Universal! I can't wait! :)

Sounds awesome! We'll be there exactly one month later but we're doing WDW first (BC) and then we're staying at Universal (PBH) for 3 nights.

What kind of rate did you get for the Hard Rock? Did you book it using the Entertainment Rate or Fan Club rate? If you didn't, check the Universal Hotels and Resorts Board for details on both. I saved over $100 per night over the rack rate with the FAN club code.

You might also want to join Loew's First. It's the Loew's company's frequent stay rewards program. You begin getting rewarded on your very first stay. As a Loew's First Blue Member, you get:
  • Your favorite welcome amenity. Choices include: a bottle of red or white wine and nuts, fresh fruit and bottled water, cookies and milk, or a treat for your pet.
  • Wall Street Journal, USA Today or the local paper delivered to your door every morning you stay with us.
  • Free access to our fitness center.
  • 500 American Airlines® AAdvantage® Miles or 500 Amtrak Guest Rewards® Points or 500 Midwest MilesSM per qualified stay.
  • Enjoy a free upgrade to a premium room, if one is available when you arrive.
  • Enjoy a late check-out of 3 hours beyond the regular check-out time, if available.

Membership is free, just sign up here: Loew's First

I really like the idea of the welcome gift and late checkout. If we get upgraded to a premium room as well, I won't complain.

I hope you have a fabulous trip and don't forget to let us know how it went. I've been planning my vacation now for 7 months and I'm still excited about it!

Thanks everyone for jumping for joy with me!:bounce: :Pinkbounc I'm still bouncing:bounce: :Pinkbounc
Mad4themouse - Thanks for all the great tips! I actually started playing around with the idea of Universal/Disney combo and went straight to the Universal boards checking out all the details. I did get a fan club card and I did sign up at Loew's First, still waiting for the card though. I checked out all the prices with those discounts and then I called down there to speak to someone personally. We also have an entertainment card, but the best discount I found was an airline employee rate, my husband works for Delta. I'm never satisfied until I get this best bargain out there, and I will probably keep checking up until we leave. We also were able to get an airline employee rate at Disney!:teeth: Love those bargains! I'm thinking about getting those bonus tickets off the internet for Universal, 5 consecutive days for 99.95. I better stop here, they'll be bumping this thread over to the Universal one.

Use this link for the 5-day USF/IOA passes and save yourself a few $$$$. Kraft HulkUSF/IOA Offer . The link in it takes you to the USF/IOA ticket site but you'll get $8 off the pre-tax price of $89.95 per ticket. No Kraft purchase is necessary.

It's planning the best! I get totally addicted to planning a trip. That's why I have to start about a year before. It gives me a hobby. Congrats on your trip!
