OT: jon and Kate + 8 new house?

I found it interesting watching last night that she had no friends or family there helping her clean...does she not have anyone that can tolerate her..???? Or maby they dont want to be on TV...?? I will have to google this.. as someone else mentioned. I agree with many on this... My husband and I watched it last night to see the house.. They never showed the front of it.. i wonder if it was for any specific reason... They no longer seem like your everyday middle class family...

I would like to know what happended between Kate & her family. She speaks highly of her mother & sister in her book. How do you know what you google is even true?

I question it too, because in the book it said then when they got the home makover they had all new cribs in the room. So that makes alot of what is said untrue, especially about her family. I alsoread that they tape 3 days a week with 1 whole day being the interview. So in reality it is not that much because they don't tape all year either.

OK, I admit it...I googled! I found one post that gave an actual AP article that made me wonder...Remember how in one of the specials (I think it was or a remenicing special) that they had all the volunteers coming and going then one day she did it by herself, and then the next and then the next??? Anyone have a guess how old the babies were at that point? A year or under?

There is another statemnet that just BLEW ME AWAY!!! google...Kate Gosselin medicare hearing...it came up as the first option. Seriously, this completely changed ANY positive thoughts I had of her.

In the book it says most of the volunteers were there under hte age of one. Then a few remained such as Beth, Nana Janet, and I think two others.

I, like most, used to watch regularly, now it's like watching extra commercials. Those remote cars, V-tech, a nice big shot of a Wii box, and really ALL the trips are advertisements, just to name a few. Same with the Duggar's, Michelle and one of the oldest girls dusting a cabinet together with the big Pledge bottles and JimBob and boys cleaning the bathroom with "Scrubbing Bubbles". No thanks, I see enough commercials in an evening.

Sorry but the show NEVER was reality or relatable.There are many many people that have multiples out there and struggle each and every single day to keep the peace and make ends meet, without the benefit of camera crew and freebies.

OK, here's why I ask...I'll spoil the google.

The AP wrote an article that Kate and Jon were appealing for continued medicaid nursing aid past the one year limit. Didn't say what the outcome was. the article continues to state that Kate said she felt that "sociey had a responsibly to help with the children, since modern medicine promotes the use of fertility drugs, which can lead to multiple births." Then it goes on with her saying that she has healthy babies. WTH!!! Because she had 6 babies at once due to fertility drugs that I had nothing to do with, my tax $ goes to helping her care for those babies who are well, just cause she can't do it herself??? I may sound heartless, but that struck me as wrong (BTW yes, I live out of the US, but I do pay US taxes). So does that mean that because drug companies make new drugs that cause a patient to die, I get slapped with a lawsuit? Sorry, but you go into fertility treatments knowing the chances of multiples...wether is be 2, 3, 6 or 8. At that time she it seems like she was still working and Jon was employed.

I also read once that Kate had miscarried before the sextuplets and her doctor told her to wait a few months before trying again. She didn't, went on something like double the dose of fertility drugs and wound up with 6. Yet, she was a nurse, knew the possible outcome, yet did it anyway. She also did it behind Jon's back, from what I read.

2)What average 4 yo can't wipe his own bottom??? Needing the TP that's one thing, but her comment about now we won't know in which bathroom to find the child that needs to be cleaned...HU?

One of my 5 year old twins doesnt wipe his bottom either.
Not saying its the norm, but there are kids out there that don't wipe yet.

OMG I totally agree with you. I thought too, where is her family and friends to help them get thier new home ready. When DH and I moved into our home, we had about 25 ppl here helping us clean up, move in and get settled. I had my entire kitchen, bathroom and our master bedroom all set up on move in day. What a super help it was to have our loved ones here helping us.
I felt a bit sad that there wasn't anyone there enjoying the moment of their new home. I had read that Kate had burned bridges with her friends and family members.

I will tell you a little story...there are plenty of people who volunteered to help with the sextuplets when they were born and did so out of kindness( I was one of them ).Kate was very mean and nasty to everyone and was constantly throwing people out of the house, stuuf not done to her liking,not to her convenience etc.I figured ok she is stressed and postpartum.Then she complained no one would help her, and the neighbors are all jealous....Kate is a smart woman and can be nice at times.BUT she tends to allow her OCD personality run her and she did in fact burn alot of bridges.No one is to blame for her having no help per se but Kate.It is quite a shame since Jon is a very nice guy.

Me and about 500 other people.Yes, we took turns cleaning house,feeding babies,changing babies, cooking meals.

As I was reading, I was wondering, what do you think is going to happen to these kids when the show goes off the air? When they leave home and don't have all of these opportunities? What about when they are old enough for Playdates, can you imagine Kate handling that situation?? I think everything is OK now, but they have set themselves up for a HUGE fall, I hope they have prepared themselves for this change that is inevitable.

I used to really like Kate, but I think she is a very cold person, ever watch the way she hugs the kids? Or how she was with the children at St. Judes? I feel sorry for her, she seems so sad, and incapiable of enjoying life for what it is.

If that is true and the Dr knew about the double dose he should have been held accountable. I know you have a good chance with any # of multiples with any fertility treatment, but a double does??? IMHO that is irresponsible...even if it did lead to 6 cuties.

I totally agree...it isn't the fact that they prefer not to have the kids in the room, it was how she said it and threatened severe consequences and got mad when Jon wasn't backing her up as she yelled her demands.

I think the house is amazing though...wow!

Hey Jon, when Kate is away at an appearance and the cameras are gone sneak them all in for a movie and snuggle time ...then all 9 of you can rebell when she gives the "severe consequences" She won't expect him to back her up after that!
