OT (ish) who is going to Disney Princess on Ice (Wishes)?

Glad there is a break and its not on for to long, we have the 3pm showing so hopefully we will be home early evening.

What merchandise was there, im gonna have to get DD something this time as these tickets have been sent by the Princesses themselves as she thinks the whole show is sold out :lmao:

TO be honest, the merchandise is really limited but as a rough guide, think of what it costs in the Disney Store and double it. There were small Abu, Flounder, Mickey and Minnie beanies - £12 each. A flag pennant thing - £5. Light up spinner - £13 / £15. Light up plastic sword - £12. Programme with plastic rose - £9. The 'best' buy was a biggish bag of candy floss with a plastic gold crown with mickey ears (or you got a flounder hat) for £6.50. T-Shirts were £10 which I don't suppose is too bad but they were nothing special.

Oh and - I forgot to mention, 4 little girls went onto the ice in Ariels 'carriage' - don't know if they were special or just randomly chosen.

we are there next Sunday and I can't wait :goodvibes sounds great and what lucky little girls to be picked to go into Ariels carriage, how fab !! Thanks for a heads up about the merchandise, it's good to be prepared

We go this Saturday at 12 noon. DD1 still doesn't know we are going - I told her we couldn't afford it! ;)

Can't wait - need a Disney fix :thumbsup2

Thanks for the updates - it looks good :cool1::cool1:

I told Kyra all the tickets were sold out :rotfl2:

Hope she realises whats in her card from the Princesses on her Birthday and it doesnt go over her head :lmao:

Well it was our turn today and it was so amazing :goodvibes:goodvibes Truly fabulous and although I was expecting it to be good (it's our first Disney on Ice/Show), it was better than I expected! I had tears in my eyes a few times and DD1 was bowled over (we left DD2 with Gran and while she would have loved bits, I'm pleased we did as she would have been on the ice I think!!!) :lmao:

We had rinkside seats - literally (I booked them before they went on sale to general public through a special 'VIP' thing with Ticketmaster as I'd used them before so knew we had good seats), the seats were fab - the characters were literally right next to us - we could almost touch them! :woohoo: Also, worth a note for other North Easterners, at Newcastle Arena, there were no posts at all, so no obscuring of view - I think someone mentioned earlier on here that they had a blocked view rinkside at another venue.

We spent a fortune though - candyfloss was £6.50 a bag :scared1: But it did include a cute gold crown with Mickey ears on to keep (or Flounder as mentioned previously). Also got the Programme - £8.00 - comes with a plastic rose and a Tinkerbell doll (£16!!) which I'm trying to persuade DD1 that it should be left in the box as a 'souvenir' but she's not buying it :lmao: It's in a special Disney on Ice box so that is why I wanted to keep it 'nice'!! :confused3

Anyway, those who are still to go are in for a massive treat :thumbsup2

As we entered we were given flyers for the two upcoming shows next year already!! :lmao: Spring 2010 - 'Three Classic Fairytales' (Princesses Live) and Disney on Ice '100 years of Magic' in Autumn 2010. Not sure when tickets go on sale though - wouldn't have thought it would be long for the first show :goodvibes

I've been thinking about you guys today, one of my friends was there this afternoon and she said it was amazing although she came away minus 65.00 :scared1: Sounds like you had an amazing time !!

We have rinkside seats too, so I'm so excited, dd is going to love it. Princesses Live sounds fab, can't wait for the flyer !!1

Thanks for the review :goodvibes

OOoh the next Disney on Ice shows sounds fun aswell! Glad you had a great time, think i'll stay away from the merchandise section :lmao:

Aww thanks Tilly Bud - hope you have a fab time too - when do you go? At Newcastle Arena? I was amazed by the set etc.

Emma - yep, stay well away. To be fair a lot of the stuff is tat but it's everywhere - there were about 20 stalls all selling the same stuff so no escaping :lmao: DD really liked the dolls as they were all boxed looking nice!! Popcorn in various containers seemed a good seller - you could get it in a keepsake bucket or an Ariel treasure chest (quite nice) but unfortunately it was covered in toffee (the popcorn not the box lol) so DD couldn't eat that so we settled for candy floss :goodvibes

The 'Three Classics' show does look great - it states 'Join Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & Donald for an amazing fantasy adventure that brings the enchanted stories and music of Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and Beauty and The Beast to life' :lovestruc Can't wait to book :lmao:

Have a look at http://disneylive.co.uk for details :)

We had such a great time this morning (at Newcastle Arena), the show itself was just fab and I loved our front row seats, dh asked how I managed to get them as we were in block 1 row a but I didn't disclose ;) Got some great photos and some not so great photos, it was difficult trying to capture them as they were going so fast !!! Will upload a few when I have more time.

We bought dd the Tinkerbell doll which was 15.00, but you could get other dolls including Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle etc which were also 15.00. There were so many stalls all with the same merchandise ... there was no escaping !!!! T-shirts were 10.00 and a nightie for 15.00, various light up objects were about 13.00 (but we brought one from home), eel binoculars (from Little Mermaid) looked a bit nasty and were about 7.00 and there was loads more ... bags, necklaces, ornaments, plush toys, etc. The programme which came with a plastic rose was 8.00 and you could buy a princess bag for 1.00. DD also got Ariel's Treasure Chest which was filled with popcorn for 7.00, I figured she would use the little treasure chest to keep her bits and bobs in and it's guaranteed for two years ?!!! Oh and I purchased dd a photo of her sat next to a big Ariel which cost 8.00 :scared1: for 13.00 we could have had the photo in a magnetic frame.

Had a great day, just wish we could see the show again ... I guess there's always the next one to look forward to :goodvibes

Ok i'm gonna need to take out a loan for this show :lmao:

Oh yes!! They were also selling helium balloons on the way out for a fiver !!! They get you every which way.

I'm pleased we took a light up thing with us as dd would have definitely wanted a new one especially as they had a really cute tinkerbell one and an ariel one.

Next time I'll make sure dd takes that much stuff she won't be able to carry anything new :rotfl:
