OK, I'm sure I'm really dating myself, and I don't mean to make light of all the recent natural disasters. That being said...

Has anyone else noticed a strange similarlity to the recent natural disasters, and the beginning of "Flash Gordon" where Ming the Merciless decides to destroy the planet Earth with a series of natural disasters because he is bored?

I mean, come on, we've had earthquakes in Haiti, Chile, Mexico, Indonesia, Los Angeles, and China.

We have an active volcano spewing hot ash over all of Europe.

And a fireball with sonic booms lighting up the night sky in the Midwestern US.

What the heck? Next thing you know there's going to be hail that turns into fire raining down upon us.

It might be time to board that spaceship to flee the planet with Topol.

It is a surreal time right now! If there is a ship, I would really like to get a fastpass.

Yeah I know.. I was thinking that this morning... It's only April and we have had numerous natural hazards in the world in 2010. Can't imagine how 2011 will be... or 2012. Hope thinks calm down at some point!

No Dave, didn't you hear? Jesse Ventura told us it is all a government conspiracy being caused by HARP :rotfl2:

Well supposedly it's all gonna kick off in 2012 :sad2: So many disasters it does raise questions but we never seem to get anwsers :confused3
I've been depressed watching the news, if the volcano carries on we may not be able to fly next Sat. but I am always thankful my house/life hasn't been affected.

This is very eerie Dave....I was just (I mean about 20 minutes ago) telling my parents this same thing. Not the Flash Gordon scenario, but just all of the natural disasters going on all over the earth.

It seems like there is something going on right under our feet. I hope some body of government, scientists, or someone way smarter than me is looking into it because it just seems very active right now.

I am in the earth sciences and I can tell you from what I have read and studied, the answers are there, just waiting to be pieced together...... It's just the powers that be are not going to accept them without a fight. See recent controversy over data at the University of East Anglia. The scary thing about this is that it is just really starting to roll.

*one cool theory that is starting to spin is that the off loading of arctic ice is causing a lot of uplift on the plates...leading to instability.....it is definitely an interesting time for geoscientists.

I remember Flash Gordon. I used to get up early so I could watch it before I had to leave for school.

We were just talking about this today at work as well, many crazy things happening right now. I hope it all calms done very soon.
