The only thing about Lake Mary I would caution you on is this...You do NOT want to have to commute on I-4 everyday. If you get a job in the Lake Mary area, fine...but don't buy a house in Lake Mary and take a job in downtown Orlando...trust me.

The Agent said it takes her 35 minutes to get from Lake Mary to Disney, but not during rush hour... and that at rush hour it would take an hour for the same drive.

Yes...unless there is an accident or something. Then you're looking at who knows how long.

Unless you have jobs already planned, i would consider Tampa as well. I moved from Chicago to Tampa 7 years ago and have been quite pleased. Orlando is overrun with tourists and sprawl. You can still find some nice established neighborhoods in Tampa, i.e. South Tampa, Carrolwood, Town & Country. Its still a pretty quick drive to disney, I can get from my house to the Main Gate in 1 hour.
