It is COLD here! We are getting freezing rain and when I came home around 7pm it was 25 degrees outside. If that wasn't bad enough our builder had to completely strip and refinish our cabinets and they choose yesterday and today to do that. So I am stuck in the house with freshly stained and sealed cabinets that STINK! I opened a few windows earlier this afternoon but once the sun went down I had to close them and turn the heat back on. We have candles burning all over the house trying to combat the smell of the cabinets.

Stitchlover: Where in North Texas are you? We are just north of Austin (Round Rock). It is cold here too (29), and they are saying a 90% chance of ice tonight :scared:

The wind is howling something fierece, and I am NOT looking forward to the commute to work tomorrow. I live 14 miles from the hospital where I work and it can either take me 20 minutes to over an hour to get to work depending on the traffice:crazy2:

We're in Arlington and it's icing up pretty good right now...I just took the dog out and the grass in crunchy and our parking lot has a couple of ice patches...trying to stay up to see if MISD is going decide if school is going to be delayed, closed, or open normally tomorrow

We live in Aledo, 30-40 minutes West of Fort Worth. We live outside of town. Since I posted earlier we have lost electricity which means no water...we have a well. They have already cancelled school for tomorrow!

OH NOOOO! No power in the winter is the worst. When I was about four months pregnant with our first son, we lost power on New Year's Eve and didn't get it back until January 7th!

Stay warm and take care!

I'm in Plano this week and did not come prepared for this weather - no coat. There was a ton of ice on the car when I left work and no scrapper (rental car). I hope it clears up before I head home on Friday.

I sure do feel for all you folks in Texas. We moved from McKinney back to Southern Calif. last summer. Iv'e been watching the weather channel and thinking about all of you. Stay warm and please be careful on the icy roads. :)

We are north of Fort Worth and we got calls last night that school was cancelled at 10:30. It is crazy weather when you think last week was warm. I hope that everyone is staying as warm as possible.

I have a friend that lives in Aledo and she was saying how school was closed for a snow day yesterday. It was about 75 degrees here when she told me.
We finally got cold about 8pm last night but no ice by the time it gets all the way down to south Houston.

i'm in plano (DFW) and all the school districts are shut down here- dallas, fort worth, plano, irving......so yeah for an ice day and staying home!

Hi!

I am in South West Fort Worth. I am sitting in my office and watching the ice melt!

It seems like quite a few of us are from the DFW area!

We finally got power back after a little over two hours. Due to the refinishing of the cabinets I was required to turn the gas off to our fireplace yesterday morning and was unable to get it back up and started last night in the dark and cold. Two wonderful neighbors came out in the dark, cold and freezing rain to help me get the pilot light lit and the fire place back up and running.
I have spent today reclaiming the bathrooms, laundry room and kitchen from the dust and grime of the cabinet mess. I only lack one bathroom at this point.
