OT-Ice cream in a bag

Anyone ever done this?? I have a cub scout meeting tonight and this is going to be our snack. I've never done it. I have instructions, seems easy enough, although I don't have rock salt....

Any tips

LOL be careful with any sugar at cub scout meetings!
We had one here about a month ago and stupid me decided to let them frost their one cupcakes! I left and my hubby and son had the meeting and when i got back, he said within ten minutes of eating the cupcakes, the boys were off the wall!
he decided that next time the snack will be bread and water!

just a question did you get the recipe of the cub scout website? I would love to try this myself!

We did this with my cub scouts and it was a hoot! If I can remember it right it was a small sandwich bag with 1/2 & 1/2 and vanilla and sugar I believe - zip it tight and then in a larger zip lock bag it was ice and rock salt. Throw the little bag in the big bag and shake, squeeze and mix it. Little hands get cold fast so make sure to have them wear gloves or have dish towels handy for their frosty little hands!! Have a blast with this!

I got the recipe off the internet just googled "ice cream in a bag"

We're doing the Making my family special, so we're making little picture frames, a scrapbook and I figured making ice cream can be a family effort as well. Hopefully it turns out well, it's their snack for the night.

I've done it before, and it turns out well. I think you need the rock salt though. It helps keep the ice from melting.

Well I just did a run through with my DD, I didn't want tonight to be the test. It came out really good and it was easy. I did use clear vanilla, so it stayed really white.

This is actually something that would be fun to do at home in the summer with the kids.
