Does anyone know how it got IN the PB? I looked and could find nothing in the articles explaining. I looked up the bacteria and it says it is passsed from people/animal feces to people/animal. I also thought maybe it could come from the lard, maybe they used chicken fat?![]()
Does anyone know? I use the natural but I'm still scared to give it to my little ones.
Us too. I threw it out. I didn't even bother with the lid at this point, I bought it on sale and I think it cost me $1 with coupons. It's not worth the shipping! LOL
exactly, I am frugal, and thats why I bought the walmart value PB last time I was there (we buy peter pan sometimes too so I guess either way I was outta luck) But I could care less about the $$$ My dd4 has had reactions to the PB... I know she will be fine, but it makes me very upset.. Thank you to ThunderVolts for PMing me when I asked about the Walmart brand "2111" I had only heard about peter pan... I took dd4 to the Dr. immediately... my heart goes out to all the un ~ "choosy Moms"I have one too - just tossed it in the trash today. Not going to worry about the refund. Our health is more important.![]()
I just read the report and this is just a precautionary recall.
Here is a quote from the report...
"Although none of our extensive product tests have indicated the presence of salmonella, we are taking this precautionary measure because consumer health and safety is our top priority," said Chris Kircher, spokesperson for ConAgra Foods. "We are working closely with the FDA to better understand its concerns, and we will take whatever additional measures are needed to ensure the safety, quality and wholesomeness of our products."
I'm not suggesting that you eat it anyway, just that salmonella hasn't been found in the product...
We have a jar that's almost gone...and no one here is sick...
Anyone wanting to read the full report can go to www.conagrafoods.com
Hopefully, that will put your mind at ease...
