This is way off topic, but please help settle a difference of opinion....how often do you give your toddler a bath (on an average day when they are not making mud pies!)

My almost 3 year old gets a bath and a hair washing almost every night. We do skip it occasionally if things are extra hectic or he gets tired earlier than usual, etc. However, we really try to do it every night because, not only does he usually need it, he also LOVES baths and it's a great way to start his whole bedtime routine. A lot of nights he and I just hop in together and enjoy some play time after the scrubbing. :teeth:

Usually every 2 days for my toddler and infant. Summertime daily.

This week my 18mo has been sick and been in the tub 2-3 times a day :sad2:

My son is 2 and my daughter is one. They both get a bath every night - complete with hair wash :thumbsup2
If it's cold outside and we've been stuck in the house all day they will even take one in the afternoon sometimes just for fun. I tell them it's time to go swimming! They really love these because momma doesn't wash their hair then - that's only the bedtime bath :)

My 2.5 year old DS gets a bath & his hair washed every night. Sure there are times we miss because we are out late, or extra busy.

But generally, it is ever night.

It's a welcome part of our bedtime routine. Though it might not always be a sit down bath. My 3 year has loved the shower since he was 2 1/2; so sometimes it's a shower.

There are circumstances (like if they fall asleep in the car after being out at night) that they miss the bath. No biggie.

I really do love a baby shampoo scented baby/toddler! :goodvibes

My youngest two kids are 2.5yo and 9 months. They get bathed daily. Sometimes my 2.5yo (maybe twice a month) gets especially tired and sleeps early without a bath, but I shower him the next morning.

My kids, 22 months and 3.5, get a bath every other night. Their skin gets very dry in the winter and if I bathe them every night, no matter how much lotion I put on, their skin will get really dry. I bathe them every night in the summer.

During the summer it is more, but during the winter we back off the baths, my middle on has eczema, and baths dry her skin out really bad. We have been know to go a week, we do wipe downs when needed. We have yet had to use any special creams and such on the eczema this year. During the summer it is probably every other day or so.
Also, when we just had one child, it was probably everynight, now with three (even though they take baths together), it is not possible. My girls are also in bed asleep by seven everynight, so honestly, we run out of time too.

We generaylly do every other night unless they really need one. During the summer it winds up being every night though.

Every 2-3 nights depending on whats going on, how they're feeling, how dirty they've gotten themselves, etc. I personally don't feel at that age they need a bath every night. My DD also has dryer skin, so in the winter its not as often as in summer.

My oldest also has eczema - pretty bad, so when he was little we started with weeklies. My daughter just fell in line. And a friend's three year old drowned in the tub when my daughter was a baby and a year later a girlfriend of mine drowned in her tub having a seizure (my son is prone to them), and I'm frightened of bathing them - another reason to not bathe them too often. Unless they get dirty, then they get bathed.

Usually every night for my 3 yo, but my 7 yo dd takes one in the morning now because I think she feels fresher for the day that way....but every day both of them and hair washed everyday too. :thumbsup2

We have always done the every other night in the winter(3 out of 5 kids have dry skin) and every night in the summer. If the kids need more or less bathing we go with the flow. :rotfl:

My kids have ecezma and they are under dr's orders to bathe as little as possible. Only when needed. My 5 yo gets one about every 2 days (more if needed & generally is during the summer). My 2 yo NEEDS one almost every day, occassionally we can skip a day. My 6 month old gets one once or twice a week. We just wash hands and face really well every night.

We have 3 & 4 y/o sons and they bathe everyday......occasionally the miss a tubbie at night so they will shower quickly in the morning. They really need it especially in the summer!

I put my 18 month old in the tub almost every night. He does miss the occassional one if we're out late or whatever. He enjoys the bath though and I enjoy a squeaky clean toddler. And he has no skin problems so that's not an issue for us.

About every 3 days, more in summer if needed, sometimes more than 3 days in the winter. Bathing too often really dries the skin.

Every day or two. Not their hair, though. I don't see any reason to wash something that isn't dirty.

My 2 year old DD is VERY tactile sensitive and absolutely HATES the feeling of water on her skin.So unless its summer, we usually only manage to wrestle her in the tub 1-2 times a week.Even then its like you sent her to the Guillotine, lol.The rest of the time we just take a moist cloth and wiper her down.My older son takes one every night.I think that unless your kids are like my son (who seems to get dirty just sitting still) that they really dont need a daily bath.
