OT: How much would you pay?

Hi Guys!

I know that this is kinda off topic, but who would know better than the disboards, right?

My friend is starting a home based business selling diaper cakes for new baby gifts and showers. The question is... how much would you pay for one? I have posted a picture of one of her standard cakes. They are approximately 65 diapers in a three tier cake. Feel free to give prices for both generic and name brand diapers. She would like to offer options. Let me know if you have any questions.

That's so adorable! I'd pay up to probably $100-$120 or so.. Not sure, I don't know how much diapers and stuff cost , but my cousin is having a baby sometime this week and I wish I would've been able to buy one of these for her shower! So cute!

We were just looking online at how to make these for a shower next weekend. They were selling for $120-$140 on the websites that we saw. That one is really cute...

General rule is supplies X3 to figure out pricing. There is so much work that goes into making these things, I hope your friend can turn a profit. I know with my jewelry, people love it, but aren't willing to pay what my time is acutally worth...

I agree with the pp, how much does your friend put into the cake?? I ask because I have mead many diaper cakes for friends and family and I put a lot into them, not including diapers, probably $150 worth of stuff.I've been offered $300 to make diaper cakes for others. I put rattles, washcloths, burpy cloth thingys, pacifiers, tylenol, mylicon drops, little rings, other toys, cute diaper pins, and usually a piggy bank or teddy bear on the top. I stuff my diaper cakes and they are really heavy. So depending on what goes into it, if it's only diapers and a teddy bear I certainly wouldn't pay $100 for it. BTW good for your friend for venturing out and giving this business a shot!
