Does anyone know how busy the Whitby Passport office gets or if there are days that are less busy? A friend needs to know. thanks

Last time I was there was July 2005 and althought it opened at 9AM or 10....yikesss sorry can't remember we got there for 8, they allowed you to line up inside and we where in and out in about 15 mins wasn't bad at all.

BTW that was on a Saturday morning.

Two girlfriends from work just went! In and out in a hour, one went on a Saturday and one went on a Wednesday, both in am!

I was in there last Thursday, in and out within 1/2 hour and that was after 3pm.

I was there last Monday (17th??) arrived about 9am and was on my way by 9:25 and that was submitting 3 childrens passport applications. Not much of a line up and what little there was moved quickly. the office opens at 8am now I think (check the website for sure) so it had been open for an hour when I arrived and still not many people .... and the passports arrived today, so less than 2 weeks.

In and out in 20 minutes at the weekend.
Its probably the most efficient, governement service office I've visited !:thumbsup2

Hi Neighbours

:cool1: I live in Whitby  and I'm really happy that I don't have to go to Scarborough any more to get a passport :cool1:

Most passport offices are the busiest when they first open in the morning.

Any of the offices in large urban areas in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver can often have horrendous wait times. Even here in Mississauga it can be quite crowded. Any area that have many Canadians by choice will have busier passport offices.

If you are near a local office swing by take a look. There usually is a chart up on the wall indicating the peak times and other times that are not so congested. Talk to the security officer she or he is the person who knows that office the best.

Fill out your forms (correctly) online, print them off and take them first thing in the morning to the Whitby passport office. With forms in hand we were sent to the priority line and we were only there for five minutes. It took two hours to fill out the forms online, for the three of us, but it was sooooooo worth it.

We are from Whitby, by the way.
