OT: Halifax trading day

I know a couple of people were wondering when the next low commission day with share trading at Halifax was. I got an email saying its going to be Weds 20th Aug between 8am-9pm for international trades

Thanks for posting, Nikki. I was one of the people asking about it as Halifax stopped sending me newsletters about sharedealing some time ago now.

I'd contacted them before about it but tried asking again the other day and finally received an email from them informing me that because I wasn't a frequent trader and my last trade was some time ago, I don't qualify for the offer.

This seems strange as I had never bought any shares before I got my EuroDisney ones and used the reduced commission offer when I bought them, so I certainly wasn't a frequent trader at the time!

I guess they must have changed the terms of the offer since then.

So it looks like I'll have to pay full commission if I decide to buy some more shares
