OT: Gymnastics/Dance moms

Other great leotard names:

Snowflake
Alpha Factor

but my all time favorite is GK Elite. In my opinion, nothing compares to them. Your daughters bottom will never be hanging out. They will hold up wash after wash.

I paid around $36 for my daughter's GK but I resold them on ebay and made $20-25 each. Look around at consignment stores. I've gotten some incredible GK's there. My daughter at 3 had 15 Gk's and only 2 were brand new. At a consignment store you can expect to pay anywhere from $5-10 each.

My daughter decided last week (end of session) that she was done with gymnastics. We have moved over to dance and Danskins seem okay and are very reasonable. I wouldn't recommend them for gymnastics because dancers seem to wear a higher cut.

I have gotten beautiful leo's off of Ebay. Keep in mind - GK runs extremely small, so go at least 1 size up.

www.look-it.com I ordered for years from them. I just threw them in the wash on gentle and often sold them on ebay for almost as much as I paid. years later still looked brand new. Unfortunately now my dd has changed gyms and EVERYBODY (yes she is almost a teen) has GK. Honestly twice as much and don't hold up at all and don't last. I call them crap. I really love look-it.

Look under the left for budget leo. My dd had some of the same ones especially the velvet. Really good quality and some for under $20. Same as cheapo's at Walmart that don't last.

As a gymnast for years, and coach and now mom of a potential future gymnast, I lived in GK and Alpha Factor. GK has an alliance with USA Gymnastics and they have a great line of Adidas leotards which are super cute. You can also check out other gymnastics schools pro shops since shipping is a lot for one leotard. eBay is great too....but I usually got mine from the gym's pro shops. Good luck!!!

They have some really cute leos at great prices!!!! Just curious as to the sizing compared to GK? I have one dd in a GK medium and one dd in a GK large - any idea if the 5-7 size is comparable to the GK medium???

I get most of our leos at consignment shops or on ebay, but have been lucky with other gyms' sale racks when we go to meets, too - found some really cute leos for $12.00. Yea!!

Honestly can't remember as we haven't order lately. I suggest you call the company. Any time I have had a question they are more than willing to work with you. I am sure this question has come up before. Wonderful staff, They should be able to help you
Honestly I wish my dd would still wear these. They are so comfy, throw into the wash and come out like new. I hate paying double for a GK that has shoddy construction.

Not affiliated with company in any way. Just love them. My dd always got compliments when she wore them, especially the velvet. Very nice.

Quit holding back and tell us how you really feel. ;)

Honestly I'm surprised that you dislike GK leos so much. :confused3
My girls have been out of gymnastics for awhile now, but they competed for years, so we've owned MANY leos. I was always pleased with the quality of GK leos, if not necessarily the price.

One of the more popular brands with the girls at our gym, that I haven't seen mentioned on this thread, is Rebecca's Mom Leotards. Their regular prices can be high, but they always have a few specials running. Might be worth a look.

Try body wrappers. They are the biketard style which is great because they don't ride up. They hold up great! I have also had great luck with GK.

My dd mainly wears GK, but other brands besides the ones mentioned already are K-Bee Leos; Satara Leos, I also believe that there is another site called leotardlady.com. I tend to buy dd's leos off of ebay and usually don't spend more than $25 with shipping. The key is not to get caught up in the bidding frenzy. If I buy new, I tend to buy at the meets.

Another thing you might want to do is if your dd has a team at the gym she is attending ask if the team does a gently used leo sale and any point in the year. Dd's team has done that in the past and the leos usually sell for an average price of $10-$15. I end up sell as much as I end up buying! :lmao:
