OT- Getting worried.

((hugs)) I am so sorry for how today went for you, I am glad Amy is going to recover fine.
Thinking of you tonight as you go back to visit her.

On a different note.. I am sure I ran into you in Orlando and did not clue into the fact until after I left the store that you could have been THAT Chris with Amy.. did I talk to you in the Nike store? I was talking to a Canadian guy who was waiting for his wife Amy who was in the change room about exchange rates and the canadian money verses the American money.. any way if that was you it was nice to "see" you... if it wasn't you there was somewhere there from Ontario who's name was Chris and wife's name was Amy.

Sorry to go off topic, I am thinking of you guys tonight!

Kathleen aka mousy

I'm not going back tonight, the boss ordered me to come home and spend some time with our four legged kids. So I know she's doing fine. The first thing out of her mouth was did you get some thing to eat because you didn't have breakfast this morning. She's something else that's for sure.

It's possible, Amy calls me chatty Kathy there. I am a different person down there and she can't believe all the people I chat with. It's just not me.:lmao:

Chris my friend....

I would have reacted in the exact same way. Holy crap, of all the places to put Amy after all this. I'd like to send the hospital staff for a little sensitivity training!!!!

Glad to hear you had a strong MIL there to help reign you in. I hope you're ready to be the ultimate husband and wait on that little lady. Maybe you should get her a little bell to ring!!!

In the long term... big picture... will you two being looking at adopting???

Disney fans = good potential parents in my book!!!

You know this is pretty wild to me. Once again Thank You everyone for the well wishes. She came through with flying colours but I can't say the same for me.

I lost it today and had to apologize profusely to a poor nurse. A little history, we have been trying for kids as long as I can remember and things have gotten so bad for Amy she needed a hysterectomy. Hence today's operation. This weekend the reality of it hit her hard.

When they tell me I could go see her I go to her room. I go there and where did they put her? In the maternity ward:scared1: :scared1: .Needless to say I lost it at the nurses station. To all the nurses out there I am truly sorry for having to put up with people like me.

So with the help of my mother in-law I calmed down a wee bit, even though I was a being an idiot the nurse understood my concerns (with a very straight face even though I'm sure she wanted to slap me up side the head ;) ) and would try to have her moved.

I feel like such an idiot but I guess all the years of frustration got to me with everyone all around me having the best day of their lives. No excuses I was sooooo wrong but the light of my life is going to be OK, I gotta be happy about that.

Now I have to go buy some flowers for a nice lady.

I am glad to hear that everything went well. I was thinking of you guys today. Since you are in the same city and all.
You know I don't think you over reacted at all. A little sensitivity would have been nice on the part of staff. I am sure she will be home before you know it. Wishing you all the best. :grouphug:
Take care of yourselves both of you.

Are you serious? They put someone who just had a hysterectomy in a maternity ward. You have every right to be upset. Serious, you are NOT an idiot for feeling that way. You were NOT wrong. That kind of insensitivity makes my blood boil.

Hugs Chris. I am glad to hear amy came out of the surgery well. Although I do question why they do things like that. When I was a nursing student doing my practicum on the mat ward they put a very nice lady there that had just gone through a tubal pregnancy removal. I was so sad for her, and so upset they would have her on that floor given her grief and all.

I hope they get her moved asap! take care.

Chris
Were they able to move her yet? I really hope they have!

Mousy

Nope, they have her in an area of the wing away from all the little guys but you can still hear when one of them is having a bad day :lmao: .

She has her tough guy facade on today so I can't tell if it is upsetting her or not :confused3 . I doubt they will move her, the morning nurse told me they are slow and understaffed so they are concentrating patients into less wards. Seeing that her operation is similar to having a c-section and the maternity ward nurses deal with that all the time, their logic was to place her in that ward. From a practical view it makes total sense but from a emotional sense it is a complete disaster.

Amy talked to the Doc this morning and he was surprised at what he found but glad they operated, medication would not have changed anything, it would have only have gotten worse. So it gave her a bit of relief knowing this had to happen. She's one tough cookie, she has to be she married me, so I am hopeful she will have more good days than bad.

I am grateful to all of you anonymous guys and gals that are here for me to sound off to. It has been a great stress relief for myself. Thank You!

Besides I don't think they guys on my Fishing board would react the same :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Forgot to do the multi quote thingy!

Little bell to ring, NOT! That's it, she isn't going to read this thread, can't give her any idea's. (Insert sarcasm here :rotfl:)

I doubt it, I'm going to be the big 40 this year and don't know if we want to jump through all those hoops. We have plenty of nieces and nephews blood related and good friends kids that call us uncle and aunt. Besides if I leave my "kids" home for 8 hours no one is going to call the cops on me, can't do that with real ones.:rotfl:

The only thing I regret is taking my frustration out on a poor lady just trying to do her job, as I said earlier I understand the logic but they need to factor everything into the equation.

I hope I explained their thinking above.

yes you did explain it well however any surgical floor could do the same for her. I wish her a speedy recovery!

Quick update for those that still not bored, all the tubes and machines are out and she is getting in trouble with her nurses. She had a need to clean her area because people where coming to visit :lmao:. That's my girl always fussing when people are coming over.

They are moving her tonight out of the mat ward, they need the bed, Markham is having a mini baby boom.

That's so great that she's feeling better already!! Well "better enough" to want to have vistors and be clean for them!!! So glad for you both.

So glad to hear your latest update. Thanks for taking the time and best wishes! :wizard:

Picked her up this morning, Doc checked her out and let her come home.:yay:

Now the hard part, keeping her idle.:lmao:

That is great news!! :woohoo:
I am sure she will be glad to be home.
Best of luck trying to keep her quiet for the next little while. ;)
Take care!

Glad to hear that Amy is home and doing well. :goodvibes the good news, it's too darned cold out there to go anywhere, so snuggle up together under warm blankets and watch movies all weekend. :thumbsup2

Please gently remind her though, that even though she is home, her recovery is going to take weeks and weeks, and that "feeling better" is not a reason to start doing too much around the house. She needs rest, and lots of it.

Sending PD pixiedust: that her recovery continues to go smoothly.

Hi everyone..:wave2:
This is Amy ,Chris's wife...I just wanted to thank everyone for all the support and love that you have shown us. I especially appreciate you all taking care of my Chris...as big and tough as he is , he still needed the comfort of your ear to help him through what has been a very long haul for us.

Hi Amy. :wave2: It's good to hear from you. But please remember to behave yourself and get plenty of rest. I'm betting that if you asked him to, Chris would go out and BUY you the little bell himself! ;)
