Wooo! Just been reading over on the community thread as I knew stuff was gonna get pretty heated!

A load of republicans are saying they're gonna leave the DIS because democrats are being ungracious winners.....

Sure am glad our politics doesnt get so personal over here!! But then I don't find the conservatives and labour are much different when you really listen to them....just find David Cameron a bit sleazy....

We have been studying America at school so I talked with my class about it all today. It took a while as some of them thought that Queen Victoria was still our queen. Oh and every time someone said President Bush they laughed as they thought Bush was a silly name!

Yes, same here. Glad he won! DD asked me what I was watching/listening to on the news this morning as I kept "shushing" them. All I told her was America has a new president (like a king) and everyone is very happy that he's the new president. End of story. And she went back to eating her brekkie lol.

The amount of times i had to tell Kyra to be quiet when i had the news on.

Little does she know but this moment has made history, I hope she is proud of her hertiage when she older as Obama has shown that "anything" is possible no matter what race you are. What a great man.

The year 6 teacher wasn't too amused as most of her 11 year olds thought President Bush was in charge of our country and that Prince Charles was married to the Queen!

I was watching Lewis Hamilton's interview today and this guy appeared next to him and Kyra assumed it was her dad!

A child in my class thought Obama was Lewis Hamiltons dad for some reason. She said they looked alike, which I guess they do. I pointed out they had different names and lived in different countries. She was like "Oh yeah, I didn't think of that!!"

I have tried to explain that just because they are black it does not mean they are her dad.
