Christmas dinner - any traditions there?

Mum always comes for Christmas Day and Boxing Day (although we're chucking her out early on Boxing Day due to ice hockey being on!!) - we had a traditional Christmas meal always starting with French Onion Soup and Cheesy garlic bread.
Tea is usually a buffet.

2 years ago DD woke up at 12.30 (midnight) wanting to open her prezzies - Id been in bed literally 5 mins and DS was still out

We have a strange tradition of going to Chester Zoo on Christmas Eve - we started going 10 years ago (before DD) because I fancied doing something really unchristmassy.
We didnt go last year (because we were too busy packing to go to DLP on boxing day) and really missed it so Im hoping we go again this year

We always had my nan over for Christmas, this will be the first Christmas without her so its going to be strange.

We always have dinner at lunch time & a buffet in the evening, that way if people aren't hungry they don't have to eat & the food can be saved for the next day.

We didnt go last year (because we were too busy packing to go to DLP on boxing day) and really missed it so Im hoping we go again this year

Oh I love Chester Zoo! We try and go every year, but haven't made it yet this year.

I will post a picture of my tree when it's done but be prepared for something that looks ahem, let's say not very professional.

Christmas dinner - any traditions there?
I did our first one last year. We all usually went to my mums but she's not very christmassy so we will be staying at home from now on. I also did a family buffet in the evening with everyone over. That way the kids see everyone but it's not too overwhelming.

Christmas food, something I'm good at at.....!

We start the day off with toast or bacon sarnies and Bucks Fizz (Or fizzy orange for us non drinkers!)....

Christmas dinner, depends. We always have turkey, but last year we had duck and beef as well.... And mini sausages, bacon rolls, my sausage stuffing, roasties, veg, yorkies, etc..... And pudding which changes yearly...

And loads of sweets and junk after, then another three or four Xmas dinners over the course of the day....

That sounds like a fun thing to do. I unfortunately have to work on Christmas eve 95% of the time although one year we were allowed to help oursleves to loads of fresh fruit & veg to take home, so we filled our bags up

I love left over Christmas dinner. I never get sick of turkey sandwiches

DS1 and DS3 both work in retail so usually work really long hours leading up to Christmas often til 2/3am getting things ready for the sale and then are back in on boxing day

Same here, although I don't work that late. I alway book Boxing day off although for the past couple of years our Sainsburys hasn't opened on Boxing day but this year they have decided to open.

Failing that -we often go to Dunham Massey or Tatton Park over the Christmas period so a meet there would be an option as well
