OT - Flights to Vancouver

I am looking to book flights to Vancouver for my DS13 and I for anytime next summer to visit my family. I am looking to fly out of Toronto or Kitchener-Waterloo preferably out of KW as it is closer.

How much is the average? and how far ahead do I need to book to get the best price?? Does anyone know what the best price I would be able to get??

I have no idea what to expect!

If you fly out of KW you only have West Jet as an option, and you will have to change planes in Calgary. Toronto has direct flights on WJ, AC, and some charter companies too. I have seen pretty good prices on the charters, (less than $400 incl tax rt) but you have to go on those specific dates, and often it means you only get to stay for 3 or 4 days. And it's usually last minute.

If you are flexible with your dates, keep checking WJ and AC for seat sales, starting in the late winter/early spring. This past winter AC had a sale for any dates through the summer and into the fall, but I don't think they usually have sales that far in advance. Flying from Toronto will usually be a lot cheaper too. From KW I'd say if you find seats under $500 then it's good. I just paid $550 for KW to Kelowna (bit more expensive than Vancouver), and depending on the dates I could easily have spent $700+.
