DH and I are going to Florida over Easter and since he is letting me spend a day in DW, I need to find a really awesome place in Florida for him to go fishing. Because we have no real plan or schedule while we are there, this fishing can be at any beach or park or whatever. So, to all of you that live in Florida or visit often, where is a good place to go fishing?

I was just looking into this for dh. He said something about Lake Toho...Bass Masters Classic...trophy fish, sorry I was half paying attention to him, lol, but I guess it's an excllent lake and this is the closest marina to the Disney area. (it's 15 miles from the villa we're renting in Kissimee) They have guided trips.

and Disney has their own excursions. Dh has heard that Disney's lakes are, of course, well maintained and only allow catch and release.

Hope this helps.

freshwater or saltwater? it makes a difference. :)

i doubt he has a real preference of fresh or salt water. We live in PA where 50 % of the water outside is covered with ice. He just wants to fish somewhere.

I would recommend hiring a guide. It can be pretty expensive, but it is worth it. I would also recommend hiring that guide to fish one of the Tohos or other area lakes. The Disney fishing excursions are good, but much more expensive and the fishery is fairly young. Not a ton of trophy fish.

Easter is a little late to catch the bass spawn, which is the best time to catch monster bass. But he will have a great time anyway!
