OT Fisher Price Little People pricing question!

Ok Im having a garage sale this weekend and I have already advertised. Someone already emailed me about the Little People and Im thinking if they want it all I will put a price of 50.00 on it all.

I have ..

bus and people
parking garage
barn and all the animals etc
All around the town set which i know I paid about 60.00 for. Its HUGE and I have all pieces.
Car wash and pieces
Garage and pieces
random little people noahs ark animals
Easter set and people


All the pieces that are supposed to make noise all work.
Ive also cleaned it all up so its all ready to go to be played with , LOL my time cleaning it is prob worth more than 50.00 ; )

What do you think, Is that to much to ask for all of it or not enough?

I think I would prob be real excited if I found all of this for 50.00, but Im not sure.

When my children were done with their Little People, I put them on ebay and they sold for either what I had paid for them or more. I was shocked. You may want to try that option.

I did the same thing as soon as my kids were too old to play with them and made a killing. If you put them in a big lot with lots of pictures, people will buy them. For some reason they are a hot commodity, especially if you have "older" Fisher Price Little People, like the wooden ones.

No i dont have the wooden ones, its just the ones from the last 3 yrs . I really cant do the ebay or craig's list. I just want to dump it all at once.

Personally I would start it higher for the first while then drop it to 50 later if it hasnt sold...

Personally for all of that I would think I was getting a steal for 75-80...

Great Ebay start off price, for a garage sale, you have to remember people are looking for a bargain. I got way more than I paid for set when I put them on Ebay.

We are just starting out in Little People World and I would pay between $50-$100 for all that stuff.

I am in the process of putting the parking garage together and that alone is worth $25 in assembly costs to me. For some reason it's giving me a headache!!!

I just sold a bunch of sets on Craigslist and made well over $100. I would recommend starting at $10 a set and maybe $20 for the all around town set. You could always lower the prices if they don't sell.

For sure start higher, maybe even $100, and let yourself be talked down. You would be amazed at how collectible these things are.
We have several of the sets ourselves.....my youngest DD is 3 and when she outgrows the sets, I am going to pack them up and save them for my grandchildren! Seriously, and I have zero storage in my house, LOL, but I just love the sets and want to keep them in the family. I even have several of the holiday sets that I only bring out during their holiday month and then I pack them away again. My DH thinks this is a bit odd, but he married me so he can't say much.....

Yard sale items are usually priced at about 10% of their original sales price. More if they're genuinely new in the box. Less if they have excessive wear.

I'd price the items separately. Almost no one buys a $50 item at a yard sale; chances are the sets'll be sold separately.

I agree that you'll make MUCH more if you go with ebay; however, you'll also have to go to the trouble of photographing, listing, packaging/mailing, and you'll have to answer questions that the buyers ask (don't underestimate that part). Personally, assuming the items are in really good shape, I'd go the ebay route.

I love my people weeple... I have mine from when I was little. They are wooden... Showing my age. My all time favorite which I will never be able to sell is Mr. Hooper. We have sooo much. I need to break my attraction to a toy and get them on Ebay.... Good luck and don't underprice yourself in the beginning. Check what prices are on Ebay and match... Yard sales have no shipping costs so they are actually paying less.

Price them separately. I think they'll sell better. If someone wants it all, then you can make them a good deal on the lot. Remember, people go to garage sales to find BARGAINS!!! Don't be offended by low offers. If you don't get the price you want, consider ebay.

My FP little people addiction is amazed that anyone could ever think of parting with them.

My mom kept most of our sets and my kids play with them when we visit.

So far I have washed and thoroughly cleaned each piece and have all the sets in plastic bins saved in the attic. It the new sets were less money and didn't make noise I'd probably still be buying them. My oldest is 14 - he got a pirate ship when he was 3. That thing was played with for 18months straight, ever day, no lie.

I am missing the Navitiy set and would love to get that.

So to me FP little people = priceless

Oh, I am a HUGE Little People collector!! I am even a member of the Fisher Price Collector's Club. I am one of those nuts on Ebay who pay those exhoribant prices you see. I collect mainly the older/classic ones that were made from the mid 1960's until around 1989. My goal is to get every single set, with all the right parts. I also love collecting the rare Little People made with unusual color combinations. I even have some in unopened boxes. My family thinks I am nuts, but there are many Little People collectors out there, I certainly am not the only one! I have a few sets from when I grew up, but most I got on Ebay or at local rummage sales.

Even the new Little People seem to get very good prices on Ebay. Personally, I would just keep everything and forget about selling!

I personally wouldn't pay $50 at a garage sale for all that. I would on ebay or possibly craigslist but for some reason garage sale screams bargain to me. You might find someone that would though.

When I was starting out with buying little people, I would have easily paid $75 or a little more for all of your sets. When I garage sale, I take quite a bit of cash with me because I'm actually looking for bigger items that are a good price.

I had a garage sale in April and sold a huge Little Tykes play yard. Brand new (3 years ago) it was $300, I paid $35 for it 2 years ago (bought from a coworker who just wanted it out of his yard). I put $50 on it hoping to get $25 and I had people fighting over it for $50. It was crazy - I could have sold it for a lot more.

My friend just had a garage sale and two women actually starting shoving to get to the Little Tykes cozy cars that were priced at $7.00 each.

Never, ever underestimate crazy garage sale people. Especially Moms and Grandma's - they lose all sense of control.

I agree with the posters that would rec selling them separatly. Personally I would not pay $50 for anything at a garage sale. I might want to pay $7 for one of the items though. If I'm at a garage sale and I'm not a collector but am looking for toys for my child I would thinking less is more. I generally pass by any toys at Garage sales that are more than 5-7 dollars. I'm usually looking for a quick "fix" to keep my son happy for another week!

But a lot of times at Garage sales you will find people that just want to re-sell the stuff on e-bay. They might pay the $50 and re-sell for $100.

I have kept all of the FP sets my kids had and will pass them on to their kids. We had a Sesame Street set with all of the characters from the show and I can't remember what happened to that one, come to think of it.
