OT~ Fires In Florida :(

off the subject but had a few questions. We are in Sebastian Fl 15 mins from Palm Bay where the fires are at. I know here they are closing the interstate from here up to daytona area. Does anyone know if the parks are closed at this time. Are any other roadways leading to the parks closed off due to smoke/fires? We are not sure if we are going to have to evacuate or not. I know parts of I-95 are shut down anyone hear anything about I-4 or 192 ? what about other road closures ? Our trip is in 9 days .. wondering how the smoke will be up there at that time ? Maybe people in other states havent realized about the smoke and fires in the area? Just putting this out to talk about it. Please dont be mean.. if we have to leave we will do so

First of all, my heart and prayers go out to those of you affected by the fires. I watched the news coverage of Palm Bay and just could not believe the situation. So sad.

The parks are open. There is only one fire currently in the greater Orlando area. It is near Hiawassee and the Turnpike. I-4 and 192 are open.

I just say a news alert. It said I-95 is closed from State Road 60 to 192. The fire has jumped the median.

yeah see we are between 60 which is vero and palm bay..hubby is on I-95 going south to work and saw 2 troopers fly past him going North.. they havent told us to evacuate yet but the smoke is pretty thick. the schools are keeping the kids inside today.. thankfully.. thanks for keeping me posted!

Boy, it seems like the world has been turned upside down with all of these fires, tornados and that cyclone. My heart goes out to you, I'm in NH but last year when we were in Naples there were some big fires nearby, it's nothing like worrying about your own house but it's still a scary thing.

tyty its scary im not gonna lie about it .. they closed the interstate yet again. people are having a hard time getting around because the major roadways are being shut down because of the fires. we have a small airport that seperates us from micco ( next to palm bay ) i can actualy see the smoke and sometimes at night the flames.. last night cars werent even driving down our busy street.. and guess what next month is Hurricane season!! ya know the thing that irritates me is we have been on a water restriction forever. if we werent maybe theses fires wouldnt be out of control right now ? I put the sprinklers on this morning figured a fine is better then an amber burning up my yard and home.. thanks for the prayers. the news dosent really tell us anything. So if you hear more I would appreciate it !!
