Has anyone ever got a fax with great deals, like $349. per person for 8 night stays, including Orlando, Daytona or Coco Beach and 3 day Bahama cruise? They sound almost too good. The one I got did not even involve a timeshare presentation. Just wondering if it is bogus? Thanks for any help.

they do involve timeshares.

I went on one. they definitely try to sell you a timeshares - correction - several timeshares. I hated it.

we actually went on the cruise....yea - cruise from hell. It was horrible. it was rusty and it smelled. the air conditioning wasn't working, the pool wasn't working, even the gambling machines were not working.

they even over booked.....

they got so many complaints they changed their name....

no I won't go one of those.

see if you can't find a name or agency on the fax. then go check them out with the BBB.

I have learned - the only thing that is a good deal is skyauction.

one more thing that $349...

well then when you get to first location they start adding charges - $25 for TAXES, the cruise has a bunch of fees, the Bahama hotel which was horrible - no air conditioning, the TV had 3 channels.... they had a fee per day of $35...

anyway these people actually called me back a year later and I laughed in their face - they send me on the worst and I mean worst vacation of my life and they actually thought I would do it again..... :rotfl:

We also went on one of these, but it was actually somewhat enjoyable. The "cruise" is actually a day cruise in our case. You don't get a room unless you pay extra. The boat was small and moved around alot. I was getting a little seasick. THe hotel in the Bahamas wasn't too bad, their pitch is to try to "upgrade" you to the resort for more money. We just never went to the timeshare pitch in the Bahamas and instead rented a car and went on our own. Back in Orlando the timeshare place didn't know who we were, so after about 30 minutes I went out to the payphone and called Disney. We ended up staying at Caribean Beach. The best part was they never took the money out of our account, so other than the taxes and port fees that part was free.

The fax that we have is for $199. Three nights at the Amerihost resort near Disney, no timeshare presentation. Two nights in Daytona beach, I forget the name of the resort, but it is on the beach, three day Bahamas cruise on Royal Carribbean , SOMETHING??? of the sea, three nights in Cancun and as a bonus you haveyour choice of several locations. $199 per person, and port fees and such of $99.50, plus resort fees of $7-12 nightly per unit. I was told absolutely no other charges. The idea is that you will like it so much that you will book with them again. I didn't bite, but I have a friend that did and her trip is totally different, timeshare presentatin involved and she iss staying at the Radisson Resort Parkway for $349 plus othere charges.

I've seen many of these faxes come through at work. I know one lady who went for one and she really enjoyed it. She said there was a time share presentation they had to sit through, but it wasn't bad. I think the one that Spicy Cat is talking about is different. I know the one that I get at work has a travel company name to it and I have done Google searches and nothing comes up. I received one that sounds similar to Spicy Cats and I can't remember the name but it was the name of a big hotel chain, maybe Ramada Plaza Resort - I know it was ____ Plaza Resort, but when I did a Google search on it, I found that it is not actually in anyway connected with this hotel chain and there were many complaints re the ship being a "tin can", the hotels being dumps, etc.

I stayed at Amerihost in Feb and it wasn't a bad place.

We've heard of "No it's not a timeshare pitch for the cruise, hotel, etc"...but it *IS* a timeshare pitch to get the tickets to get on the cruise, and get your room at the hotel.

Good friends of ours got snagged by it 4 years ago...they were sent their "documents" before they left, which turned out to be vouchers that they had to redeem once in Orlando..ie, here's the room you get if you don't come to the pitch..and here's what you get if you do.

They sat through 3 high pressure sales pitches during their 8 day $700 total price for 2, vacation.

Can't beat that price with a stick! LOL

Their attitude was "hey, it's still better than being at home at work" !! :teeth:

Good luck:)...and have fun!!

TIMESHARE!

It doesn't say that on the fax, but when you call... We got them at work and called one of them to try and get off the list. That was a misstake. CROOKS! You should have heard the lines they were feeding us. How we were depriving our employees of the right to these great deals.

(One of our dumber employees had tried to book... on her's you paid and then got vouchers and then you had to book yourself. Guess what? No cheap rooms avaialble, but we can upgrade you??? Plus she had to go to a "Vacation" briefling or her CC would have extra charges. I figured "vacation" briefing was "timeshare" LOL! Basically she wound up out money because she could never book the vacation!)
