OT - Eggo Waffles

I haven't been able to get Eggo Waffles or other Eggo products at the grocery store for at least 2 weeks - are other areas of the US affected by this?

Funny, I have been having the same issue. Been trying to find the Whole Grain/Wheat ones. As I heard they were quite good, but haven't seen them.

Wonder what is going on?

It is so funny you posted this, I was at Wally World yesterday and happened to notice a sign that said they were experiencing a shortage and it was country-wide. Must be a production issue.

Hadn't noticed. About 2 weeks ago I switched to the Kashi Go Lean blueberry waffles. Very good. I just wish there were more than 6 in a box.

My local supermarket actually had a sign up on the freezer case where the waffles are, saying sorry for the shortage of Eggo waffles and we hope it will be resolved soon.

The Eggo waffle shortage is due to September’s floods in the Southeastern United States, which temporarily closed the Atlanta factory, as well as by equipment problems at the company’s largest waffle plant, in Rossville, Tenn.

The few stores in my area are missing certain Eggo Waffles but have the Homestyle and Orignal which is what I get. I noticed a sign at Shaw's the other day that said there was a "National Shortage of Eggo Waffles". It was one of the funniest things I have read in a while honestly!

Yes two weeks ago I went to the commissary and they were all out. I didn't realize it was such a huge thing

Our Walmart has been out of all except the plain original eggos for several weeks now. They finally put up a sign explaining the shortage today.

Just bought 2 boxes of chocolate chip waffles on Sat. There seemed to be a full freezer full of Eggo products. And this was at Walmart.

I usually buy the publix ones unless the Eggos are BOGO, but that part of the case has been empty for a few weeks now. Just seems like a strange thing to have a shortage of, but with all of the flooding lately it's a reasonable thing. I'm just glad they weren't recalled due to contamination.

I'm so happy for this information. My picky DS4 loves their Cinnamon Toast waffles (and I think they are pretty good myself). I haven't been able to hardly find them for several weeks and was becoming concerned that they were being discontinued. They are a nice breakfast treat because they are tasty without having to add syrup or anything. Thanks OP for the info.

Our local grocery store has had the sign up for quite some time. I just buy the store brand kind, my kids don't even notice they are different. I should try the Kashi ones, I usually buy the Nutrigrain ones.

We noticed too as dd (my lightweight) loves the chocolate chip waffles. Nope none of those around.
I tried aunt jemima french toast sticks and I was little grossed out that they don't bag the sticks- it's just dumped into the box. I won't buy those again.

I like having a box on hand in case of crazy morning(with 4 kids we have lots of those)

I do double batch when I make waffles from scratch and freeze them but I don't always have those in the freezer.

Thanks for the info!! I haven't been able to get our whole grain ones for two weeks now. I did try the store brand one, and my DS 10 asked what was wrong with them. I tried them. Sure enough... cardboard.

DD4, my lightweight, also loves the choco chip ones. They've been out for awhile, but I didn't know why. It has actually worked out because I've gotten her to eat the whole grain ones now with the baby.

My supermarket had a sign last week saying there is a nationwide shortage of Eggo. They had the home style kind only on special 2 for $7.00. MY kids like Eggos for breakfast. I do too especially since my waffle maker suddenly doesn't work. Do I smell a waffle conspiracy?
