Hello Veteran Ebayers....I have a question for you. Have you ever had a problem with someone that purchased something from you. I am having trouble at the moment with very strange circumstances. The buyer and I live maybe an hour tops from one another. She had asked me if I would be willing to meet her to give her item (a homeschooling curriculum). I agreed and only kept a portion of the shipping charge for my time/gas. This curriculum is used and stated that in the auction. I also gave her ample time to look it over and show her where most of the marking in the workbooks are. She was happy with it and went so far as to say "It looks great! I will take what I need to make a complete curriculum and sell the rest on Ebay again." All is well and we part. Last night I get an email from her stating that she is not happy with the item and wants to return it and have me resell it. I have a feeling her change of heart was due to the fact that there was another similiar item for less money listed after her purchase. I'm just concerned that she is now going to lie and say that it was not as described. Anyone with a similiar situation? If so, what was the resolution?

No experience myself but it seems to me that, rather than want to buy cheaper, she's used what she needs, wants it for free and can't be bothered to re-sell it herself! :sad2:
I, personally, would tell her sorry but she can sell it herself. :flower:
She had plenty of time to look over it before she took it away.
Good luck.

I totally agree. She had time to review the material. She knew what was included. Tell her no and that you don't accept returns on printed material. She can resell it on Ebay if she wants to.

I'd tell her that she could resell the stuff on ebay.
You made the sale. She purchased it. If she doesn't want all of it, let HER resell it since she is now the owner.
Maybe this is wrong for me to say, but with photocopying and printers I wouldn't put it past anyone to copy the book and then try to return it to you.

Another thing that I think may have been making her write this email, is I saw someone else selling another similiar curriculum for less money. While it was similiar, the seller was not listing the Math portion of the curriculum and it had more writing in it. Now that it has sold, I'm wondering if she will drop this.

When I sent her an email, before my post, I did explain that she could resell the curriculum herself. What really baffles me is she asked me to meet her, which I did and went through the workbooks to show her what had writing in it and what didn't. If she had a problem, you would think she would have said something right then and there. I'm still waiting to hear from my response yesterday.

That may depend upon if she was the one who bought it. You can check the bidding history to see if she tried to bid on anyone else's auctions. Even if that isn't the case it sounds like you went above and beyond by agreeing to meet the person and letting them inspect everything. Unless you offer a money back guarantee in your ad, I would say that you have met all of the terms of being a fair seller and it is up to this person to resell the item now that she has changed her mind.

I agree - you have done nothing wrong and if she wants to resell she should. She already told you she was thinking of selling off pieces of the curriculum so it isn't like she doesn't know how to sell on e-bay. I've bought but never sold on e-bay and I don't bid on anything unless I'm sure I wanted it. She should have done the same and I think you meeting her and going through the books was above and beyond.

Good luck!
