First, I thought the Emmy's were really good last night! Very entertaining mostly. Neil Patrick Harris was great last year, but Jimmy Fallon did a good job this year too.

I was thinking about the comedy shows though. To me sit-coms like The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Two and Half Men are very different from Dramadies like Desperate Housewives, Glee, Ugly Betty (miss you Betty! :sad1:) and I'd like to know why the lumped Dramadies in with sit-coms instead of in with dramas? There is alot of drama on Dramadies, comedy too of course, but what category they should go in could really go either way IMHO. I really think though that Dramadies should have their own category. Comparing Sue Slyvester to Penny on BBT or Leonard to Mr. Shu doesn't seem like a fair comparison. I wonder if it's been considered and if so why they didn't do it. Could it only be because it would make the Emmy's show longer? :confused3 I wouldn't have minded that for last night's show.

And how does SNL fit in??? I didn't understand some of their nominations in the comedy show catagories for SNL, isn't SNL considered a variety show?

I don't know my opinion to your actual question, but just wanted to say I miss Betty too. I still don't know why they ended it. I loved that show.

I guess it would be too hard to subdivide shows into more than the 2 catagoies we have now (3 if you count reality programming). Plus, they would have to add Lead and Supporting Actor/Actress in the Dramady catagory, making for a verrrrry long show.

But I definitely agree about the nominated actors/actresses in comedies- it is hard to compare, say, Chris Colfer on Glee to NPH on How I Met Your Mother. Both actors deserved their nominations, but, IMO, Chris's best work on Glee was his more dramatic stuff- coming out to his dad, dealing with his crush on Finn, etc. While he is as deserving as any of the other nominees, I can see how he didn't win for a comedic performance.
