My Ds will be 3 on the 20th and we have spent about a week trying to get him to use the potty. Two days in underwear and guess what- today he is going on his own! :yay: :yay: :yay: He uses a stool to stand and is so proud of himself!:goodvibes He really has the hang of number 1!

Now for #2...He has had one accident in underwear and was really upset. Otherwise he waits until bedtime or when we put a pullup on to leave the house. Any good ideas to help him go on the potty?

Thats great!!
I would skip the pullup thing and stay close to home for a several days till he gets the hang of it. No yelling or fussing if he has an accident, just let him know yes it is gross thats why it goes in the potty and that he needs to take a bath to get the grossiness ( lol) off of him. My DS trained pretty fast but # 2 took longer and i think it helped that I stopped his world when he had an accident. You must bathe, help mommy clean up etc... That and i wouldnt let him put any pants or undies on until he figured it out and he was chilly LOL. It was winter and he wanted his pants. Im like fine, use the potty and you can have all the pants you want LOL!!
I did the pullup thing for a cpl of weeks and soon figured out he held on to it because he knew he was gonna get a pullup at some point during the day.
Ok course boys take a little longer to catch on, just means we have to be more patient with them about it.

DD(2.5) started back in Sept. One day she was complaining about her diaper so we let her walk around naked for the day. We did nothing and went no where. Then she disappeared and we found her in the bathroom using her potty.

One thing that I have found is that if she wears those pull ups too often, she refers to them as diapers. When we go out or she goes to sleep we refer to them as "travel panties" or "night time panties".

What I did was get a treasure chest and some toys and when she went on the potty like a bigh girl, she got to pick out of the treasure chest. We also made up a chart and put a sticker on it each time she went potty.

Maybe some of those can help. As far as #2 in the pull ups, she has only done it once...every other time she goes on the potty.

Hope some of this helps....Good luck.

I should have stated earlier, he keeps his pullups dry now. We really do need to use them because we live in the county and we are 30 minutes from just about everyplace we go, without a lot of places to stop. But, I do know from experience with DD that she would get lazy in pullups, so we are staying home a lot lately.
