OT - do your daughters like to play with K'Nex?

Oldest DD (11) has some sets and likes them, but honestly likes her legos better. She and her sisters will play with their legos for hours at a time.

My boys, yes, my girls, no. They don't play with legos much either, but my boys do.

My DD10 asked for the rollercoaster set last year for Christmas. I got it and it is yet to come out of the box. I am sure some girls do, but so far mine don't. Now that I think about it, I am going to pull it out for something to do over the weekend.

My DD10 has had them for about two years, but didn't play much with them. That is, until a few weeks ago. Now, they are one of her favorite things.

if it wasn't for my DS1.5, I'd get em for our DD5.. but too many small pieces..

if my DD didn't paly with them, I would and she'd eventually get into them.

We only have the "kid" k'nex which are the larger ones, and my dd 4.5 loves them. I bought them for her older brothers a few years back and they have gotten quite a bit of play over the years. My dd tends to make belts, hats, and other wearables with them and there is a set that makes a bird type of thing that they love the noise making part of (gets used in many of her "fashions").

My DS stopped playing with them years ago, but my DD8 found them a few months ago and loves them (loves her legos more tho!)

My DD7 loves her Knex and Legos. Has both on her Christmas and Birthday (will be 8 on Nov 30) list. We just got done building a Christmas toy shop. It took us (Mom, Dad and DD) 4 nights to build it. Well worth the price for good family time.

my daughter is 9... she likes to work with crafty creative type things... I just wonder if this would be interesting for her or if she is getting too old. She is very much a sporty girl - nothing pink or too girly:)

My daughter is a building, engineering mind/type and has always loved knex. She had the roller coaster one and built that in no time. It is HUGE! We had to download alternate coaster plans off the internet so she could change it around and make new ones.

Last X-mas we thought she was getting a little too old for toys (she was 14) so we got her little brother a knex set...guess who basically took over and built it?:goodvibes

Yes, my DD(4) plays w/ both K'Nex & Legos as well as my DD(6). In fact some time they fight over them :scared1: i.e. "He or she came in & destroyed my____" or "She/he won't give me that piece back...."

DD liked them "okay" but always much prefered legos. Legomindstorms is hte sinlge best toy we have ever bought her. The cost per hour of play has been tiny!
