I'm probably not supposed to post this here, but the only reason I am is because this is the only board that I have posted in.

My DD is scheduled for surgery in the morning. She has something lodged in her throat. They'll remove it by endoscopy and she won't be completely sedated unless something goes wrong, but she's only 15 months old so I'm of course, concerned!

They said the procedure will only take about 15 minutes...so that's definitely a good thing!

I know I was supposed to be gone for 2 weeks, but looks like I'll be around.

I will be thinking of you and your dd tomorrow. I am sure everything will go smoothly.

My son stuck something up his nose when he was 4 and we had to go to urgent care for them to get it out! UGH!!:confused3

Oh no your poor dd. My 4 yr old stuck foam up his nose once and we didn't know until it got infected and he had to also be rushed to urgent care to remove and he also swallowed one of the magnetix balls that my 6yr old ds did not put away and had to be rushed to the hospital luckily that one passed. Your lil girl will be in my prayers tomorrow.

I'll say a healing prayer for your little girl Kim. Hope everything goes well.

Kim, I am a respiratory therapist and know that these things are pretty common (Although not for you) Youll feel better when everything is over and your daughter is back in your arms.

Thanks, everyone so much!!!!!

Everything went really well. It looks as though the x-rays they took yesterday were negative. They didn't find anything with the scope. She handled the procedure really well. The part I was worried about the most was when they took her away from me because she's starting to have some separation anxiety. When we went back to pre-op, though, they let me come back with her to the GI lab and I was able to stay with her until the anesthesia was administered. She never even knew I was gone. When she woke up, I was in recovery with her! I thought that was great. She's such a little trooper. You wouldn't even know she had had anything done today. The dr. said that it could have been some kind of viral process that caused all of the inflammation in her throat. They were just concerned because of the location. It was just below her epiglottis.

Anyway, she's in here with me now, playing with her toys and eating and drinking just fine.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and kind thoughts! I truly appreciate every one that went out.

:) :lovestruc  :thanks: :disrocks:
