I need ideas on what to put in my stepkids stockings. I am looking for stuff that will actually fit in the stocking but at the same time is useful or needed as fillers or trinkets don't go well in our house.

What are their likes and interests?

What about a reindeer webkinz for your DSD6? Or a inexpensive piece of jewelry.

I do a mix of practical and fun. Gum/Candy, Toothbrush (for all that gum/candy), for the 6 year old girl - bath and body had american girl bath washes and shampoo, etc - that might be fun for her or princess bath products, a CD or a DVD, $10 gift card for the movies, fun key chain, underwear, socks.....

My nieces 7 & 10 LOVE scratch off lottery tickets. They always get them in their stockings (with a quarter of course to scratch with). Of course their parents redeem the tickets, but if there are any winners, they get to keep the money for their banks. I don't think they really care about the money though, they just like to play.

My stocking growing up always had an orange at the toe. How about an inexpensive MP3 player (KMart has them for about $20)

this year's stocking for the DS has a pair of novelty boxer shorts, a small Goofy plastic doll, a deck of UNO cards, candy (of course), a small Captain Norrington.

For the DD she is getting jewelry (the cute stuff from walmart), World's End small Elizabeth Swan, candy, X-mas necklace, and something else I can't remember. :)

school supplies, toiletries, underclothes, candy (we try to limit this to a couple favorites), a card game (go fish, Uno, etc..), small denomination cash (my kids each get a $5 bill), a book, a small calendar, stickers, craft supplies (my DD loves getting new beads)

Good Luck!

Where were you able to find transformers temp. tattoos:confused3

My DS5 will be getting TRU gift cards, socks, Cars movie cars, a transformer, a Wii game, a couple of mideval figures to go with his castle toy and Knights, a pezz dispenser (he collects them)...I know there is more, but I can't remember the rest now. He has a HUGE stocking, complements of grandma and her knitting skills. I forgot about the chap stick idea, he can always use that.

I found all the stickers and temp tattoos on ebay. Good Luck :thumbsup2

My DS 8 would also not like little trinkets. He gets a stocking full of paper back books and loves it! Now, if you don't have a reader that would not go over well. My DD 6 loves crafts so she gets craft supplies. She will probably also get some nail polish and lip gloss.
My DS 3 is getting new food for the play kitchen. I bought a prepackaged box but will open it so everything fits in the stocking. He also will have a couple of paperback books because he loves to read like his big brother.

How about a Toothtunes toothbrush? They're cute, popular, and will use up a lot of the space. Throw in some toothpaste too.

I loved the stockings my mom gave to me and my siblings growing up. :santa: They generally consisted of consumables, that we would snack on all morning while opening presents.

Some of the Things Included:
Granola Bars, Fruit Snacks, PopTarts, Tic-Tacs, LifeSaver Books, Juice Boxes, Boxes of Raisins, Handy Snacks, Crackers, Snack Size Cookie Packs, Pez & Other Misc. Candy. One year we had the individual boxes of cereal - those were a real treat.

Alot of this stuff was a treat for us as it wasn't normally in the house.

Sometimes there were the individual packs of kleenex, toothbrushes, chapstick, crayons, pencils, post-its, etc, too.

My son is two this year and is getting his first stocking. I'm going to use this tradition of giving primarily snack type items he can nibble on throughout the day. So far I have Raisnettes, M&M's, Teddy Grahams, Banana Chips, Dried Fruit, Raisins, Quaker Cereal Bites, Cookies, and Juice Box. I'm also going to pick up those individual boxes of chocolate milk that don't need to be refridgerated. There might be a few other additions, we'll see what I find at the grocery store over the next week. :goodvibes

I would suggest webkinz, puppy/kitty in my pocket, polly pocket dolls (they even have some cute disney princess ones at Walmart that are about the same size as Polly Pocket), hair barrettes, headbands, jewelry, bath and body stuff.

For both, dvds, video games, pc games, cds, mp3 player, books,
Sorry, no clue on what to buy an older boy, lol. Mine is only 4 and I have a hard time. Maybe a yo yo, lol.
