I want to get my DS who will be 2 next month a playhouse for his b-day. I wanted to see which ones you all have and tell me all that you like and dont like about it. I know my DD6 will want to go in it too, so I want it to have at least enough room for her to go in. I know she'll be too tall but at least sit in it. Also I want it to be neutral, I dont want a pretty pink one of course. We have a large porch that is covered and it will go there so it will not get rained on at all, so I'm not worried about it filling with water. Thanks for any suggestions and/or recommendations.

I'm not sure what kind of playhouse you're looking for? We have the one from Discovery Toys and it's called Main Street Playhouse. DD is 3.5 and there's plenty of room in it. She can stand up with no problems. Each side is meant to be a different part of Main St - post office, grocery store, bank, puppet show. I think it takes up a lot of space but she really likes it.

Sorry about that. I looked at the Main Street Playhouse. I want one that doesnt fold down. I dont want the tent kind. I want one that wont fall over with an active 2 year old is playing in it. Thanks!!

We have the Little Tikes Magic Doorbell Playhouse - we bought it about 3 years ago and it's been outside all that time and still looks great - our oldest is about 41 inches tall and he has no problem fitting inside - Little Tikes has an extensive line of playhouses, I chose this one #1 for the price, #2 I wanted one that allowed imaginative play without too many bells or whistles - the doorbell is the only thing that makes noise (ding-dong, dog barking, etc.) - I also liked the fact that I can see inside the house from all sides, so no matter where in the yard I am I can see what the kiddos are up to - the house is tan with a blue roof and a red door so it's pretty gender neutral - HTH

Hi. We just recently bought a playhouse for our daughters. It is a Little Tikes "Playcenter Playhouse." It has a slide on the side, and a kitchen inside the house. It is actually pretty tall..I am about 5'4" and I can stand up in the tallest peak of the gable. It is one of the pricier playhouses, but we got it because there is a swingset attatchment you can add to the side. It is gender neutral, with cream walls, red door and blue roof.

I saw one recently that my son loved. It was a Step 2 playset I think. it was a "fairy tale" cottage type. I'm sorry I can't find the name of it online. It looked like something out of Hansel and Gretel (brown in color, has a secret door they can crawl through, a working toy phone). Very boy friendly. (I gave our pink house to the girl next door b/c dh didn't want ds playing with a pink house, lol.)

I saw it at Toys R Us and BJ's Warehouse (Bj's was about $90 cheaper).
