Good afternoon!! Woke up at 8.30 this morning. Didn't even realise hubby had got out of bed to see to the kids. I heard him talking to DS and I looked at the clock and it was 8.30

Yep, I hit the sales. I didn't realise that M&S and Next sales start tomorrow. I thought they started today. Anyway, I went out to get my usual half-priced Xmas cards, 2009 calendars and gift tags. Was going to get wrapping paper as well but couldn't be bothered to carry those long sticks around with me into every shop lol. Also bought a top from Oasis (£32 down to £7). That's all I bought. Am sure I'll spend more tomorrow when I get to M&S

Will probably let the kids play out in the garden today - very cold but sunny here. The kids are playing a bit too well together at the moment (they're in DD's room with the door shut) and I have this feeling that one (or both) of them is gonna end up crying soon

I went up the town and spent hardly anything but came back with loadsa bags!

Spent £15 in superdrug for ALL my toiletries etc for xmas 09!! 2 big bags and a smaller bag..well chuffed.

oh the disney traditions are alot cheaper in H samuels! didn't buy any but think I just might HAVE to tomorrow!

got bags of primark stuff too...got a dressy coat for a fiver!! blouses for a quid...you know stuff like that!haha!

Boots stuff was half price and the next sale started at 7 and it was heaving, gave up and put my stuff down!

Good evening! It's so peaceful here now. Kids are in bed earlier than usual today (well, eversince the hols started anyway). Going to try and finish my TR now.

My Mum has really upset me. She's being really cross with us because we're taking Robert's Dad for a bar meal tomorrow- He's coming all the way from Barnsley on his own to get us, and because everyone has been fussing around Robert's Mum for the last few weeks, we thought it would be a nice thing to do to say thanks. She's being a right pain because we didn't ask her to go along. The truth and bottom of the matter is, until Robert gets paid on Monday (And me on the 7th) we don't have the money to take five people for lunch (My brother would have to come too). She is now having a major strop about it saying we're being ungrateful for her hard work over Christmas, which isn't true. We really spoiled her at Christmas, spent more than we could afford really, did loads of things with her and for her, and now she's throwing this back in our face.....

Sorry, I'm just ready to burst into tears now because whatever I do someone is miserable these days....

I would say to her that you were planning taking her out in a fortnight to say thank you for xmas but now she has gone and spoilt it??? Just explain that you want to take Roberts dad out because hes been stressed these last few wks??

Hi everyone.

Bob, sometimes parents behave like they are the kids lol. My mum is exactly the same. The way I handle her is to let her calm down a bit first (or she just doesn't hear what I'm saying) and then either explain it to her or enlist the help of my brother to talk to her as a third party. Life is too short to try to please everyone - you clearly do your best to do what's right and you have a kind heart. What more can you do?

She's let the matter drop...... Not before making me feel like utter rubbish mind... I have told her that whatever we'd been planning to do with her we wouldn't be now..... I think she knows she's been ungrateful. She's still acting like I'm a total cow though.....
