I would like to know if anyone in CT uses Charter communications for their cable and if so, did you get a notice that there would be an increase in the rates. I just received my march bill and it increased about $12. I just got off the phone with them and they insist that they mailed out a letter stating the increase but I never received it.

We have charter and our rates went up by $20. I called last night and after 1/2hr on the phone I ended up getting a rate that was a few $ less than what I was paying before it went up. Had to tell them I was going to cancel my service if the rate wasn't reduced. I don't recall seeing any notice in the mail and they never mentioned it to me on the phone.

I'm not in CT -- but we have Charter too. I did get a letter last month -- the rate changes were listed on the back of the channel changes.

I'm surprised Charter actually lowered your bill. We just fought with them last week over charges. We just bundled with them and when we did the rep stated a certain price -- got the first bill and it is $14 more a month than what she stated on the phone. They would not lower the bill at all -even after DH stated he would have never accepted the bundle at the higher price. :headache:

We live in Minnesota and had this same thing happen a couple of months ago...I talked with them and she gladly let me know that they would look to see if there were other "offers" that suited us and there were, so now we are paying less then before.

We've found they're almost always running some kind of promotion that will save you money. You just have to remember to call and cancel the promotional deal before it goes back to full price. And yes, you may have to threaten to take your business elsewhere in order to be sent to the customer retention department and find out about the lower priced packages.

I am in LA and I have Charter also. I called when I recieved the letter about rate increases and I complained. The rep looked through the deals that are available and said she couldn't do any better. I told her I needed to cancel my service, as I had already done with my internet with them and miraculously she came up with a better deal that gives me a lower price for 3 months. I will call back when the pricing goes back up in 3 months. After being without any service at all for 3 months because of Katrina I was shocked to see rate increases. I think it is just a matter of time until I move to something else. Their service is just so iffy.

I don't have Charter (but my parents & sister do-they live in lower Ffld County).

We have Comcast & our rates keep going up.
