Does it really count towards your completion percentage because I never accepted it in the first place? I was thinking it was like before when you would just not click on "accept" and let the question time out. I didn't think that was against your completion percentage??

If it times out it doesn't count against you. ChaCha has said declining doesn't count against you either, but you should have a reason besides it would take me too long to decline. They said right now it doesn't count against you at all to decline, but that if they notice a pattern or history to declining hard questions you could get in trouble down the road for abusing it. There was a post about this in their blog the other day, I think it may have been the Columbus day posting?

I think if someone declines a lot and only takes like the conversational questions or the one minute ones, that is a problem. But, the system could be useful. A question that I know might take me a long time to answer might be really quick and easy for another guide. One that would take another guide a long time might be easy for me. if it is used properly, declining could be a good thing for ChaCha's overall speed.
But, I can totally see how some people would take advantage and just take the magic 8 ball questions, etc. Let's hope a few bad apples don't spoil it for us all.

Well, I wasn't abusing the system. I only declined 2 ever. One was for a book I have never read and it wanted me to interpret something. Hopefully someone who knew the book could answer. It really wasn't something that would have been easy to look up.

But I can see the problems that may arise. Just like I see that some guides use the ChaCha link for questions that really it shouldn't be used for and silly, quick answers too.

I have a question... what do you put as a source for all those silly conversational questions? Do you put a joke? The ChaCha website? Those confuse me and I spend too much time finding an acceptible source when I could fly through them.

You have 2 choices... you can use the coversational page that is in the quicklinks, or you can reference whatever you are having a conversation about. For example.... if they ask what I am doing right now, I say something like listening to some music, and I reference a music page.

I read before on here, I believe, if you make Top Guide three weeks in a row then you will be given TG status the fourth week automatically. Is this correct?
I didn't get 200 searches in last week and don't want to work for 10 cents. My alternative would be as another poster wrote, to go into high gear and get to 200 before tomorrow at noon.

The 200 before noon tomorrow is wrong! Tomorrow's top guide posting is for Sunday Ocotber 5th to Saturday October 11th. The work week is Sunday to Saturday at 1159pm Eastern Time. The top guide PAY week is from Thursday at noon to the following Thursday at noon. Does that make more sense? You have until midnight eastern Saturday to make your 200 searches for the week.

I think she meant she wanted to get this week's searches at .20 per question before she went down to .10 per question when she doesn't make top guide on Thursday. So next week she can make top guide and not have to do .10 questions at all.

I think she meant she was going to get her 200 she needs for next week while she is still making .20. Once the announcement is made on Thursday she knows she will be making .10 and doesn't want to work as long while making .10, so if you hurry and get your 200 you need for next weeks top guide before the annoucement is made, you still get .20 for those 200 questions. Does that make sense?

Sorry I misunderstood! A lot of people over on the forums think that the work week ends on Thursdays and post about how they did 200 searches before Wednesday night and why aren't they top guide. Again sorry for the misunderstanding.

I made it, but my name isn't on the TG list. Very strange. I was pretty annoyed when I didn't make it. But then I did a search and got $.20. I was like wth? They later when the % email came, I was at 97% accuracy. No idea why I my name didn't appear on the Universe.

Just a couple of quick questions. When a query pops up, does hitting the Decline button lower your accuracy score? Also, how can I set myself to away when the questions are coming back to back? I have to race to close the screen before another question pops up! And I hope that doesn't affect my accuracy score either.

There is a checkbox at toward the bottom of each "answer" page that you can click to set yourself to away. Only...you have to REMEMBER to check it!

I was working tonight and on 90% of the Specialty questions, when I clicked Accept it told me I was too slow. And I wasn't. I was getting them back to back. In fact 5 in row within 30 seconds and they all told me I was too slow. Anyone else having this problem?
