Merry ChrisKwanzakkah! :santa:

Ok, I'm over it, can I take my tree down now? :beach: S

Kwanzaa doesn't start until tomorrow.
Leave the tree up a while longer

It's only the first day of Christmas! Why in such a rush for it to be over?

Because they have been flogging Christmas at the stores since November 1st.
(the halloween decorations at our walmart were not even down when they were putting up the Christmas trees:laughing: )
I will keep the tree up until next weekend for the DD's but if I had my choice it would be put away this weekend. :rolleyes1

I usually take mine down on Boxing Day, DH bugs me about it. We have a small house and it takes up so much room, and it's kind of depressing looking at a Christmas tree with no more presents.

most years we leave it up til new years but this year our living room is set up differently and the tree is taking up a good chunk of the room so I will be putting it and the christmas village away tomorrow so we have room to use our new gifts!

one year we didn't take it down until the end of february cause we got busy lol....it was weird to have it up that long!

I can understand what the PP said about the stores decked out for Christmas so early.

We usually leave our tree up until the Christmas season is officially over. (Jan 6 being the first day of Epiphany.) However, this year, it will have to come down on New Year's Eve since we are leaving for FL on New Year's Day. :)

I take mine down New Year's Day. had enough by then.

Was in the big dollar store on Christmas Eve and they had the Valentine's Day stuff up already.................:confused3

Ours might have to come down today or tomorrow. We normally keep it up longer, but for some reason this year, our tree is really, extremely dry, and it is more for safety reasons.

We did not put ours up till last Sunday so it will probably stay up till next Saturday

I am so over Christmas. It was really nice, but we'e been at it since mid-November. I might start my tear down tonight. Just have to negotiate with my uterus....she is falling out. lol

Perfect!!!:lmao: Does that mean that the Easter decorations will go up on Feb 15th!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I received my Sears "Spring & Summer" catalogue on December 19th.....you know, just in case I wanted to get my sister a bikini for the holidays :lmao: .

As for my tree, it's comin' down today. The boys are off to the Belleville Bulls game this evening, and I'm staying behind to set my house back to normal. We're headed into our annual after-Christmas hockey mode, and with two tournaments in the next four days, we won't be home to enjoy the tree much anyway. Add in the fact that the decorations just seem to lose some of their "magic" after Boxing Day and my cat has declared a personal war against my mini-snowmen (one, sadly, did not survive the attack  ), its time for the bobbles to be put away for another 11 months.

We leave it up until Jan 6 (Epiphany).
Don't want it to be over too soon!

Us too! It seems like a lot of people start celebrating Christmas before Advent even starts and then are through celebrating Christmas before it's even over. Not saying that about anyone in this thread. Just a general comment.

I don't personally know anyone that puts their tree up and takes it down according to the Advent calendar.

We put up the tree when we have time and take it down when we're sick of it.

We do! Always have! Up it goes the first weekend in December and down it goes before the kids head back to school. Couldn't do it any other way...
The retailers do get a bit crazed though. Costco had Christmas trees up in August and I've seen valentine's day stuff for the last few weeks. CRAZY!!

Advent begins on Advent Sunday, which is the fourth Sunday before Christmas.

In 2008 this was 30 November, but the date changes each year as does the total number of days for which the season lasts. It lasts for 4 Sundays.

How nice to be given a lesson on Advent...wow - CHILLAX!
