OT- Butterscotch the pony

Hi! Santa just brought Butterscotch to our house for dd3 and she really really likes it! He's very cute and she sits on him no problem, and loves to feed him and brush him. This week has been a little crazy playing with all the toys and her two older brothers are home from school and she's been building legos with them, but I know this is something she will play a lot with this year. She loves to pretend play and its adorable!

I did get it at Kohls in Oct shipped for like $157 when some kind dis'r posted a deal if you had a kohls card. And I thought that was a great deal! HTH!

Our 3yo niece got one for Christmas. She thought it was cool, but was upset it didn't move...when we asked her about it on Christmas day, she said that she "got a pony....but it doesn't move..."

Be careful if you get it though -- apparently there's a HUGE warning inside the box to assemble it when kids aren't around...Butterscotch comes without her head on!

I had to reply to this b/c this was a huge battle I had with my husband about getting this toy last Christmas when dd was 2 1/2 yo. Well I won the battle b/c it was the only toy she wanted and she promised the pony at Target (through a tear streaked face) that it didn't need to be scared there all alone b/c Santa was bringing her home to live with us. Now a year later that Pony is still played with almost daily - she had it in her room up until the point that we got a puppy at the end of May at which point she wanted the pony downstairs next to the puppy's crate so the puppy wasn't scared at night (the puppy was actually terrified of the pony but we never had the heart to tell her) She pretends to ride it and brushes it every day. As a side note though my dd has a strange way with animals - haven't ever really seen it in a kid before. It is almost as if animals are drawn to her - she has no fear of any animal (even after being bit in the face by a dog) and will get down on their level and have conversations with them - my ds who was 4 when she got the pony lost interest in it within a week and my niece who was 5 last xmas got one and it very rarely even gets looked at now! It may depend on the kid!

Butterscotch the pony arrived at our house Xmas morning.
DD is 4 and has not stopped playing with her since she arrived. She knew beforehand that Butterscotch did not walk. DD has literally played with her constantly. My DS's even get a kick out of her.

You do have to assemble her (I keep saying her...lol....DD says she is a girl, not quite sure either way) away from kids. It is headless. I was even kind of freaked by the sight.

Another tip....Don't forget what room you keep her in. She has been in our living room since Xmas morning and I still jump every time I walk by the room. I keep forgetting it is Butterscotch.

Also, I was able to get the saddle set right before Xmas and that was a huge hit. It was $29 at Toys R Us. It comes in purple or pink. DD loves purple so we got that. Butterscotch looks really cute with the saddle and leg wraps on. It comes with grass and a blue ribbon too. I am glad we got it.

We too got her from Kohl's online before Xmas for $167 shipped. I had already gotten DD a large Breyer stable for her big gift so we would not have gotten that too if it was still full price.

In case you couldn't tell.....She was a huge hit in our house. With Mom too.
