So this is WAY OT but I'm desperate to vent and I figured my fellow Canadian DISers could give me some support. My Fiance and I are in the process of buying a townhouse together - in fact we get possession on Monday
cool1
but these last couple of days have been a major PITA!!!!
The girl doing my mortgage through TD has never done one before... Not a huge deal to me at my mom works for TD as an FA and does them for a living - but she lives in Ottawa and I'm out here in Calgary. Mom happened to be in town and helped our FA get through the process to get us pre-approved everything was great and moving along until yesterday when my lawyer's office called me and said that they sill haven't received ANY of the paperwork for our purchase (remember we close on Monday and that was Wednesday) so I emailed the girl at the bank and she tells me a bunch of irrelevant things and blames a couple of other people but tells me she got it sent off (at like 10am)
This morning at 9:30am I am woken up by another call from the lawyer's office saying that they finally got the purchase mortgage paperwork last night after they closed but that she hasn't received ANYTHING for our bridge loan yet... This is Thursday and the house closes on Monday. So I call the branch and find out that neither the girl doing our mortgage or the manager - the only other person who can release these funds - are in until noon. And then they basically proceed to tell me not to worry as there are five days until our possession date Yes technically if you count both Thursday and Monday there are five days but the lawyers dont work on the weekend and my fiancé has to go out of town tomorrow. They finally agreed to get the manager to go to his closest branch and release the information so that our lawyer could finally get it in about an hour.
In the end it all worked out and we saw the lawyer this afternoon and signed off on everything and well get the house Monday but this wasnt a good start to the day particularly because I work straight overnights 6pm to 6am and should have been sleeping until about 2pm but I was up until 1230pm dealing with this.
Thanks for "listening" guys!
