OT - but need some advice from other clomid mommies

Nope. Negative this morning. :confused3 O h well. I guess I can look at it this way. If I get AF, that's one less month that I am pregnant at Disney!

I'm sorry. *HUGS* It's such a rollercoaster, isnt it? But, that's true, one less month pregnant as Disney. If you want to talk, PM me.

I'm waiting on confirmation for my new doctor and as soon as that comes in I'm going to make an appointment. I'm frustrated, to say the least!

It's very frustrating :( Hope you get in to see your new Dr. soon. I know I'm going to be pretty devastated if the clomid doesn't work. Ifeel like I've tried everything but the really invasive stuff, but I have a feeling it's only a short ways away. I'm really starting to think about the procedure a PP talked about, maybe it's worth a shot to call my Dr. about, but I know I already have PCOS which makes me not ovulate or have ridiculously long cycles. I'm a bit scared, I only have 2 clomid rounds left before I have to see a RE. ugh!

Definitely do the HSG. My cousin and I both became pregnant with Clomid after this procedure, and so do many others. My cousin delivered, but my pregnancy was an empty sac, so I had a D&C at 10 weeks after no heart beat confirmed. My RE did say she would give me no more than 6 rounds of Clomid because of cancer fears with more usage.

We did 2 rounds of Clomid, 2 rounds of drugs/IUI, an IVF, and FET with no luck. My RE thought I could not hold a pregnancy because I would have early positives that always miscarried. We were looking at surrogates or adoption, and chose adoption. We have two lovely children through adoption now.

Good luck to you, and feel free to PM me about anything.

What gets me is I had two very easy pregnancies with my first two - didn't even have to try. With my third, six years after the second, we had sooo much trouble. I was hoping that that was just a fluke and this time would be smooth sailing. Maybe because this one is the last - I have to try really hard for it. :)

Its so easy when you're not trying, lol. We didn't have a ton of trouble with DD, I just had a really long cycle, and got pg around cd40. Odd, I know, but it only took a few months of trying, and not trying that hard. Now I've been trying since last February, and I have been charting, monitoring CM, using OPK's, taking vitamins, clomid... you'd think it would work. Heck, you'd think it would all but guarantee a pregnancy. :confused3

Hi there,

I am not a Clomid Mommy, but I sure tried to be.

In 2003, I went off the pill in April and did not get AF for months (I mean months). Pretty hard to get PG without AF.

So, DR put me on Clomid in June and I stayed on it until August, and still no AF.

So, we did a fuill hormone work up, and I mean FULL! It was then we found out my Prolactin was through the roof, and regardless of the Clomid, or anything else we tried, we were not going to get PG without elevating this Prolactin levels. So I went on Parlodel, started getting regular periods almost immediatly and was PG by March 2004.

Now, here is the part that may help you. After DD was born, I was getting regular AF until Dec 2006. Then they stopped until May 2007. They were regular again for about a year and then stopped again October 2008. Now we are trying again, and the regular AFs were gone and back in January 2009. So I went to get checked and my Prolactin was through the roof again.

So, I was getting AF, but irregular, and again I was not going to get PG without Parlodel.

I highly suggest you get all of your hormones tested. You never know what could be out of whack and affecting this!!

I wish you LOTS of babydust pixiedust:!!

Good luck!!

Amy

I haven't read all of the thread....but are you being monitored while you're on Clomid? I had to go in for CD 13 u/s to see what sizes my follicles were. Sure, I ovulated on clomid, but often the eggs were not large enough to be fertilize or implant.

I did several cycles on Clomid and had a triplet pg (and then m/c) and an m/c. On my last cycle on clomid, it was obvious that I was no longer responding to the drug (very small eggs).

My doctor switched me to Femara. On my 2nd or 3rd (I can't remember now) cycle on it, I got pg and I'm now due in May.

I would DEMAND ultrasounds if you are not getting them. I was CLEARLY ovulating on clomid (7 DPO bloodwork showed that) but my eggs were poor quality or size. W/o monitoring, you are honestly wasting your time. Not to mention, monitoring will protect you from overstimulation. In my triplet pg, I had 2 decent sized eggs, but my OB suspected only one would release. He warned me though if I was 100% against multiples to sit the cycle out. What happened, both released and one split.

All I have to offer is pixiedust: DH and I tried for over a year and then finally got pregnant on our first round of clomid. Now 6 years later we are trying for #2 and if I'm not pregnant by April I'll be trying clomid again. The doctor isn't going to wait as long this time due to my age (I'll be 35 this month). And of course when you are trying it seems like every time you turn around you hear about someone else who is pregnant.

I think you have a point. A very good point. I'm not being monitored at all, and I have a gut feeling I had my m/c because my egg just wasn't released at the right time, or it was of poor quality. I'm hoping that doesn't happen again.

Maybe I should be going to a RE after all. Hmm.

Speaking of, anyone mind if I hijack the thread for a sec... I have a question.

So I'm on clomid, cd16, and I took it cds 3-7. I thought I O'ed on CD14 or so, but now I'm having a stretching-pulling feeling around my uterus/ovaries. I don't know what it is or what's going on since I haven't been temping, and I ran out of OPK's. It hurts, it's not at all unbearable, and it's on both sides. Could I still not have O'ed yet, and this is just my follicles about ready to pop? I've been thinking of calling the Doc, but I'm being a chicken.

Have any of you felt this or know what it might be?

Sorry to hijack, I just figured that since you've all had experience w/ clomid, you might know. (LOL, DISboards people know everything!) Thanks! :)

I don't have any answers for you on when to test. I just wanted to give you a :thumbsup2 for being able to take clomid that many months! I took it for about three cycles and it messed me up with hot flashes and mood swings! I was much happier when I switched to injections.

Good luck!!!! Sending ++++ vibes your way!

I haven't read all of the posts, but I have to say ITA on the above. I only lasted ONE round of clomid. Made me wayyyyyyy toooo depressed. We finally switched to injections, too.

As you can see from my screen name, we were triply blessed. :dance3:

Don't mean to hijack your post.

Just want to wish you hugs & prayers on your quest. :flower3:

And every tv show is about that as well! There are always pregnant people everywhere.

I have not had any ultrasounds this past cycle because we moved across the country. Without my doc from back home, I have no idea what is going on. The new doc here sucks, frankly.

an update: CM tinged with a bit of brown - AF should be arriving for a vist shortly, 4 days late. :( Bummer, but at least now I have some time to make an appointment and get ahead of the game.

Ahhh that is a bummer. I hope you get an appointment soon, and I hope the Dr. listens to you and is receptive.

You could have a cyst, or your ovaries are just enlarged from being put to work for so many months in a row. We just did IVF recently and my ovaries were still enlarged 2 months after the retrieval (though we got a lot more follicles from those meds than we ever did from Clomid).

I see that you are spotting; I'm sorry if this cycle doesn't turn out the way you hope. It sounds like you have an uphill battle to get the medical treatment you really need to conceive. I'm sorry!!

So DH was able to come home for about an hour tonight, and we talked about everything going on, and of course told him that I wasn't pregnant. He wanted to know first thing. Well, we've both decided to take six months off of trying. We're too stressed out, he's gone all week long, and I want to get all the chemicals, and drugs, and horomones that aren't supposed to be there out of my body and try over after our vacation is done with. it's a relief to not have to chart and take my temp every morning!!

That's probably a good decision. Relax a bit, rest, get back to "normal" hormone levels.

I remember when we decided to take a break. It was such a relief!

Good luck!
