I am debating holding a joint birthday party for my sons about to be four in May and June respectively (they were adopted-not bio bros- before you spend too much time figuring the math). I want to hold a joint party over memorial day weekend since that is exactly halfway between their birthdays.

question is: how many of you would attend a birthday party that weekend- I am worried that all the families will be going away for the memorial weekend and no one will be in town to attend.

what do you think?

my DD was born memorial day weekend and we have found we have better attendance if we have the party the weekend before. I know around here many family go to the lakes for the 3 day weekend so there are very few people in town.

If it was for family we would be there. If it is the kids friends I would say we would have to wait and see. We tend to do a lot of house things that weekend.

I really feel you. My DS birthday is Mother's Day weekend. I had family members say if I had it that weekend they wouldn't come. Just remember you can't please everyone and do what works for you.

If my DS8 were invited....he probably would not make it....we usually do something with relatives, or at least as a family that day.

I would make the party on a surrounding weekend.

I think it depends on your family and friends and how they usually spend summer holidays. My family goes to the lake for Memorial Day, but I know plenty of other families who hang out in their back yards, and would welcome a party.
