I know that this story is my own fault. We live near an amusement park/water park. We have been annual pass holders since they opened 8 years ago. Today my best friend and I went to spend a few hours in the wave pool since it is finally not raining!!
While we were in the water, less than 10 yds from our chairs/bags, my change purse that had my season pass, $12.00, and my cell phone in it, was stolen out of the bag. I know I should have used a locker but we have done this for so long we got complacent. What is weird to me is the way I feel. They had to be watching that I even used the phone. I always put it in the very bottom of the bigger bag just to protect it more from possible water damage, and they had to touch all my stuff to get to the bottom of the bag.
I hate knowing that someone "out there" has all my numbers and stuff on my phone. My son had texted me to call his school and they texted him back "no". Phone has been reported stolen so they are not able to do anything else with it now. The pass is only good for 1 more month and they want me to pay $11.00 to replace it. No thank you, I'll wait til next year. BUT, lesson learned, I will ALWAYS get a locker and I will make myself lock my phone when not in use, just to keep anyone having access to my numbers if it is ever not in my possession again. Hope this might nudge someone else out of their complacency too and be saved from what I had to go through today!!!
