Planning on taking my step-grandsons "out" for the afternoon to give step-daughter's stay-at-home hubby a break as they don't get out very often without the kids. I'm thinking that one of our Christmas gifts to them would be an afternoon of babysitting.

Any suggestions for an afternoon out in Hamilton - I don't think the 5 yo will sit through a movie - he's pretty active and inquisitive. I'm hoping I can take them sliding but if the weather is mild, I'm gonna be out of luck. DSD says it is raining there today??? Well, at least it's milder than here (minus 26!)

Any suggestions? 5 yo loved the MHCA Haida this summer and told me all about it so I'm assuming he would like something like that.....

has anyone been to the children's museum?

Thanks!

Best advice I can give is take them to an indoor gym, like Little Monkey's, best $20.00 you'll spend. They can run and climb to their heart's content while you sit and enjoy a coffee or pop.
We do this often with our 4 yr. old DGD, tires her out and she then will eat her dinner and go to bed at a reasonable hour.:thumbsup2
I'm sure Hamilton has a few places like that or Burlington has one on Harvester Road between Guelph Line and Walker's Line southside.
Enjoy them while you can they growup so quickly.

Do they live on the mountain? There's a place on the East Mountain called Chatters..... it's an indoor gym like the ones PP mentioned. Lot's of fun for the little ones and a sitting area/snack bar for the grown-ups.

Yep, they live on the West Mountain - I am thinking that the idea of the gym might be a good idea.

thanks for the suggestion alamode - :rotfl2: - don't know if they would get on a train with me, though - I'd look funny with a screaming kid under each arm getting on the GO train! :scared1:

Chatters is on the East Mountain. There's one called Jungle Jams in Ancaster that we frequent. 'Lil Monkey's is in Burlington, definately the biggest one around, but Jungle Jams is smaller & you can keep an eye on the kids much better I find. Probably would take you 10 mins to get to Jungle Jams from the West Mountain.

Zoom Zoom's is also in Ancaster across the street from Jungle Jams.
What about the Airplane Museum? It is my son's (3) favourite place. To walk under and go inside the real old planes!
