OT:Best Campgrounds in America

camping comfort is all about the bathrooms to me and the best after FW i have found are campfire lodging campground in Ashville Nc...it's on the top of a mt so not sure how much fun it would be getting a camper up there but you have your own shower, sink and potty in one personal, clean, little , mostly bugfree 3 area bathroom ( there are like 6 or so in all, the campground is pretty small) so you can go in , get "everything" done in privacy and get out....aww now that's comfort

some of the worst are the national park ones in the blue ridge parkway... outdated, bug infested and dirty especially Julian Price, love the area but the bathrooms are torture for me...huge spiders dangle above you while you are on the pot last time i had to watch one gnawing away at his breakfast and hoping he didn't finish before i left

James Island by Charleston SC has some nice bathrooms as well. not quite as clean as FW used to be ( last time we camped there was a while ago so things might be different now) and i like the sites are kind of secluded by brush ( like fw) but i wish it were on the ocean or at least the marsh area.

djblu883, funny you should mention Bucks Pocket...we camped there years and years ago and have reservations next month to take our little Que travel trailer. We also like DeSoto State Park in NE Alabama, and we just visited Nolin Lake State Park in KY. It was a very nice park, nice sites and it sits on a little jut of land in the lake. Some sites had access to the lake, and the sunsets over the water were spectacular.
