DH has split custody of his darlings. This means that we have them 2-3 school nights per week. DSS will be 11 in 2 weeks and DSD is 6. Because of the custody situation I'm really torn on bedtimes. I am pretty sure their mother puts them to bed at 9:30p and then they watch tv for a bit. I would assume they then get up around 7:30a. On his nights, DH picks them up at 5:30p. They then have an hour ride to our house. In the mornings they get up around 6:00a for the hour ride back to their mother. They do sleep in the car during this hour. So what time should we put them to bed at night? What if they sleep in the car on the hour ride here in the evenings? As this is the first day of school, I would really like to get this figured out. TIA

IMHO something for your DH to work out with his ex. If it were me, I'd be inclined to have a consistent bedtime no matter the house, so 9:30. But if they end up overtired at school / with their mom, you're going to have to adjust something, somewhere.
