Where should I look for bedding for our DD2? We're going to try transitioning her to a big girl bed in a few months...and we're hoping to use the queen size bed we already have (so we don't have to store it and buy something new). I know Potterybarnkids.com has stuff in queen size, but I was thinking of something with more theming...maybe Princess bedding. I'll look online, but I was also wondering if you have any suggestions of stores so I can see the bedding in person. Thanks!

We did the same thing with DD. She went from a crib to a queen size bed. At the time it was impossible to find anything child themed to fit her bed.
We painted her room and did a garden theme with bedding from JCPenny including a quilt, bed skirt, shams. I added a ficus type silk tree with little white lights. DD had her own pillow and could pick out a couple of character....Cindrella, Barbie, ballet, pillowcases to have as her special one.

Recently we redid her room with bedding I got on super clearance at Target. It was a tropical floral, bright and happy. Not too grown up like the classic khaki/green palm trees. It was similar to the Tareget childrens surfing/monkey theme. I was able to add accessories like picture frames, decals, etc. We put the tropical hanging lights in the tree.

Just some ideas.

Stores.....Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens & Things, sometimes TJMaxx, and high end Dept stores, Macys, Dillards, etc.

Go to Target online, and search on "DISNEY PRINCESS". And do another search just on "PRINCESS". They have lots of things you can use to decorate her room. The Disney Princess bedding does not come in Queen-Size. But, in my opinion, it might actually look better if you "ground" your design with a non-themed comforter. Then use the Princess themeing in throw pillows, rugs, and fun accessories.

If you like the Princess things that you see on Target, then find the solid color that you'd like to use with it -- probably pink, purple, or aqua.

This is a solid-color comforter from Pottery Barn Teen that I think is just a fun design that even a toddler would like -- and it comes in a variety of colors.

Also from PB Teen:

PB Teen polka-dot duvet cover

If you decide to change out the Princess theme in a few years, then you can keep and work with a non-themed comforter.

I bought my DDs bedding at Marshall's. I got the cutest quilt with the quality of Pottery Barn, but for about a 1/4 of the price.

I agree with the other poster... use basic bedding and then build up with a theme.

If you have your heart set on a themed comforter... see if you can find someone to sew a duvet in a fabric that you like, since finding a queen sized themed duvet will almost be impossible. Ikea's plain white comforters are really cheap, and ours have held up pretty well.

I know you asked for stores -- so you really may not want to do online shopping. But I also thought of Overstock.com. They have a lot of well-priced bedding. Under BEDDING, look under CHILDREN'S -- but also look at BEDSPREADS and QUILTS and all of the other bedding categories, particularly if you're looking for a solid.

Again, you didn't ask -- but look at these cute rugs on Overstock. They could add to your princess decor.

I agree basic bedding very basic as she prolly is still wetting at night once she stays dry at night really make a big deal out of it an go out get her the fancy big girl bedding.
