We are considering taking a vacation without kids next March ( :goodvibes gulp) and not to WDW (double gulp :guilty: ). I don't want to be away from them for 7 nights, as we will have an 8 month old at the time. I really want an all inclusive so everything is paid for up front and we know the bottom line cost of the vacation. I have looked online but haven't been able to find any "all inclusives" for less than 7 nights. I have only looked at packages that leave from Halifax, but I would consider flying out of Toronto if need be. Thanks for any help. :flower:

The all inclusives in Mexico, and I suspect most other destinations, let you book less than 7 days. BUT it sounds like you're looking at packages that include charter air. It's very possible the charter only runs once a week from your city.

You might want to find a good TA. If you want to do some homework look for scheduled air from a major city. You could even start with the airlines vacation packages. Find what you want then price it. American Airlines has vacation packages from Toronto for less than 7 days.

You might find a good TA. If you're a member of COSTCO give them a call.

I went through the same thing when I had a young baby to consider and found nothing except the Bahamas. Other then the Bahamas (3 or 4 nights all inclusives ) I have never heard of any.
Good luck with your travel plans!

I'm a travel agent and I would suggest a few things. There are plenty of 5 day cruises that might be of interest. One in particular from New Orleans would be nice. There are also plenty of 4 day cruises, Vegas, Bahamas isn't always terribly warm in March. Mexico, especially the Mayan Riviera would be nice. There are lots of options.

Just beware that if you book online you are not covered by the Travel Compensation Fund that all registered travel agents pay into. Jetsgo failure is a great example of why you should book thru an agency instead of online.

We use www.itravel2000.com. If you can't find anything, you could call their 1-800 number posted on their site and they are amazing! We did the Mayan Riviera for 4 nights and it was just enough of a break for DH & I! Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for your help. I will check out those sites that were suggested. :flower: I have not used a travel agent in years but this time I am going to consider it. Our first quick get away after having a baby and I would be really upset if somethign went wrong that I could have prevented had I used an agent. :goodvibes

The baby isn't even born yet and I am planning my first mental health break. :rotfl:

Most all inclusives offer their best rates through TA's and not on their own websites. TA's include online TA like Expedia.

Use a travel agent who will watch the specials for you. Throughout the day agents constantly are updated on specials. Keep in mind if you go online and book you can't just put a deposit on your trip, you must pay in full. Also, if there is a schedule change or the hotel is overbooked. An agent will get a call from the wholesaler to give you the information and to make alternate arrangements. This will not happen with an on line booking. Find an agent who will spend the time to look for you and advise you on the properties. Feel free to PM me if I can help you at anytime.

Rebecca P, I started looking at cruise websites today and they look very promising, and in some cases, cheaper than 7 day all inclusives :cool1: . I have never been on a cruise before but the fact that we can do day excursions in different ports is really nice. Thanks so much for suggesting a cruise. Any opinions on Royal Carribean? They have an intesting 5 day cruise out of Miami that goes to Belize, Key West and Cozomel. :)

Cruises are not really an all inclusive vacation! Your beverages with or without alcohol are not included and they can be expensive. Also if your worried about being away from your child and are going to be in contact with the babysitter on a regular basis this wont be a cheap call from the ship. We've cruised before and only phoned from the ports of call, but take into consideration you're probably not stopping every day, you usually get a sea day.

Yes, I agree that cruising isn't an all inclusive vacation. Drinks can get expensive and excursions can add up if you decide to do them. It depends on how much you drink and how many excursions you do. Only you can be the judge of that. If you would like to pay one price and not worry then all inclusive is the way to go.

Another way to do an all inclusive for less or more than 7 days is through Holiday House. You can pick up the brochure at any travel agent and I think they are also online. They allow you to purchase individual nights, as few as one and as many as you want so you could do 5 nights or 2 nights or whatever you need. They list for you which properties are all inclusive and have a good selection although most are Mexico. You then need to purchase airfare seperately but you can look for best prices though Sidestep, Travelocity etc. This is probably a little more expensive to do this way, but it does allow for specific time frames with a variety of options of where to go.
