OT: Anyone ever have the tape carriage

on their video camera break? I have a JVC Mini DV camcorder and the other day the tape carriage ejected and now it will not go back down, you can put one of the dv tapes in and close it, but it will not go back down? Anyone have any idea on how much this repair will cost to get fixed? Thanks....very aggravating.....

As it would happen...ours broke on vacation at WDW. So, we used our still camera the rest of the trip. Ours was a Sony. The casstte kept ejecting, took it to get fixed when we got home and turns out the problem with ours was something with the drive system for the actual recording. It would have to be sent to the factory and told the ballpark was $350 if they had the parts(since it was 3yrs old) well you can get new ones for that! And we were about to have our 3 child so we needed our camera. We opted for a new one-with the extended warrenty! Hopefully yours is a simple fix!
