and still learning about it. I got a 30 GB from my lovely DH and kids (early Mother's Day gift). Where do you get your music? I went on ITUNES but cannot seem to find how to get TV shows for some reason. Also, are there any really good sites for Disney related stuff for IPOD users?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the crappy world of CRTC. We cannot get the good TV shows downloaded from itunes. You have to use a file sharing site like Bittorrent or Limewire (you can google torrent downloads). You then need a conversion program like Videora (or something like that) to convert to an ipod usable format.

If you read a bit on the internet about downloading movies/tv etc you will find addt'l info. Sorry I could not be more specific - DH does most of it for me.

I hated my IPOD - I had it for a week before it crapped out. I had a heck of a time using Itunes (personally, I find this to be the most DIFFICULT program to use....). I brought it back to return it and get something different and the sales clerk said they have more IPOD returns than any other product in their store. I ended up getting a Zen Microphoto - WAY better and I can use ANY program to download songs from to input into my player. Sorry I wasn't any help....maybe just a warning...hope you bought the extra warranty!

I love our ipods so do the kids and the wife we all have them now even our 4 year old son. We use limewire to get our music and even tv shows there is tonnes of Disney related music and shows on there. Once downloaded I just burn it to a CD. then I can put it on all the computers in the house and when it is put in the drive i tunes automatically imports it to the software and updates your ipod with teh new music etc once you synch it. I download everything on one pc it makes it easier to manage it all that way plus I then know what the kids are listening to and watching as I am the one who loads it all.

Another good program to use to convert video to i pod format is DVD Fab Platinum there is an i pod icon on there so if you have movies etc at home you would like to put on it it converts it and you can add it to your i tunes.

• do a search for Disney Podcasts from the search window in the top right-hand corner
• iTunes will list the relevant hits down in the bottom dialog box
• click "subscribe" for whichever podcasts suit your fancy
• iTunes will now download those podcasts that you subscribed to when new episodes are uploaded (and you can download old episodes as well)

• once a podcast is saved onto your computer, either drag that file onto your podcast icon under your iPod on the left-hand side
or
you can set your preferences so iTunes will save it onto your iPod automatically

enjoy

P.S. These screen shots might differ from yours - I use iTunes through my Apple G5 tower.

Really? Wow - I HATED my IPOD - oh well....I guess that's why they have more than 1 option out there;)

I get most of my music from my CDs, as old fashioned as that may seem. ;) That reminds me, DH bought me some new music last weekend that I haven't added...

On the Disney Podcast Network (DPN) there is a link to a wbsite that has all of the disney podcasts that exist. There are also two candian one there too. The Northern Mouse Podcast and the Magic Mouse Podcast. The guys on the Magic Mouse Podcast are really funny and sometimes trow in the odd Canada's Wonderland refrence.

Another really good one is WDW Today.

I'm sorry many of you have problems with ipods - I've never had a problem, but then again, I have a mac... but I've been able to transfers pictures and movies files from pc's with no problem...

Inside the Magic is a good podcast!

Wow - thanks so much for answering my question. I did not know Canadians could not download the TV SHOWS - see - I am new at this.
I will check out the Disney Podcasts right away.
Also, if I were to download a movie - I am not sure I am understanding - but I have to convert it prior to synching to my IPOD?
We did not get the extra warranty - I wonder if I should?
Any other great tips? Thanks so all of you!!!;)

One of the most common formats for TV shows/movies are .avi files encoded using the DivX/XviD codec. These cannot be downloaded directly to your iPod as they do not recognize that file format. You need to use another program to convert them for syncing to the iPod. I found a really useful tutorial here which might answer some of your questions.

I absolutely love my IPOD. I would probably go crazy without, I take it every where with me. I take it to school to listen to when I have long breaks, or I am walking across campus to another class. I have the car adaptor so I can use it instead of burning cd or listening to the radio.
I have never had a problem with it, and I had mine for over a year now.
I get my music from limewire.

I actually bought an FM adapter to use in the car but I was getting lots of static from almost every channel I tried. It simply was not clear. I think the brand was Berkin. I then tried a cassette looking item which you can hook to your cassette player. The problem is my car is beepign every 20 seconds since it is recognizing the door to the cassette player being slightly open from the wire.

For your iPod listening needs in your vehicle:

CanadianTiire - $39.99 (but it goes on sale from time to time @ $19.99)
Works great and sounds very clear. The only downside is that you have to turn up the volume alot for some of the podcasts. Switching back to the radio or a CD can give you a heart attack!

Enjoy!

Wow - you guys are great. Thanks for that photo. I will check it out. The one I tried was Belkin at Future Shop. Sound was very inconsistent. Not sure if anyone else has had that problem....
