hoping someone here could answer this...just got back last week from the world ...been looking at those darn bricks outside MK forever...the most recent one i saw was a 2002... does anyone know if you can still purchase them & if so what the cost is ???

I don't think you can buy them anymore...if I recall correctly they were anywhere from $35-50 each.

Those bricks always make me laugh. Folks will talk about how expensive Disney is, yet so many willingly forked over cash so Disney could re-pave the walkways for next to nothing.

I bought mine in when they first started putting them in and was told that they would be only for 10 years and then would be removed and destroyed. It is still there, in front of the park near the monorail entrance. I did have mine replaced about 5 years ago. One of my son's names wore away and they replaced it. So now my brick is very easy to find because it is a different color than the rest surrounding it. I can't find the paperwork on it but you might get some information if you call Guest Services at WDW.
I don't think they are selling them anymore since they took the little kiosk away where they sold them from. They are still pushing the monolithe faces at Epcot though. (I have one of those too, can you say Sucker?)

They aren't selling the bricks or the EPCOT pics anymore. We tried to buy one 2 years ago for our wedding and were told no - we even spoke to the person in charge of the program who said there were a few bricks left, but he was not authorized to sell them. :confused3 Oh, and last I heard they were $200 each....

We bought our brick in 1995 for $75 and it's still there, on the walkway to the Poly boat launch at Magic Kingdom (so not a lot of wear and tear) :woohoo:. We visit it on every trip and are happy that it is still there as we too were told about the 10 year "limit". And yes, we have a tile at Epcot too . In some strange way, it makes me feel "connected" to the parks :confused3.

We bought our bricks back in 1994 when they first came out. My family bought 3 bricks and ours are located directly in the front of the MK as you enter the park.

They were supposed to be there for 10 years. I hope if they ever decide to redo the bricks they give us the opportunity to keep our spots.

i will be so happy when the giant tombstones at EPCOT are relocated to the bottom of the lagoon!

When I bought my etching for the monolithe in Epcot they told me that they will never be removed from Epcot but they will be re-arranged around the parks, some in from of each pavillion.
I really doubt they will move them because they really do look like they fit where they are. However, I think they should remove some and consolidate, there are some empty spaces that could be filled and some of the stones are not even half full.
I don't think they would look as good in front of the pavillions, unless they moved them over to where the strollers park for Universe of Energy.

I think they look like giant tombstones, and look ridiculous where they are.

I think they are fine. We look at ours on the way into Epcot at each visit!

There was a thread on here a year or two ago about purchasing the bricks. You had to talk to the right person to get the info to order one. It was as if they replacing a few here or there or something. If you asked if they still sold them the answer was no. They were $200 or more (can't quite remember). I know that several folks on here all bought one within a week or so of each other.

i was on vacation in late Nov 1994 & bought my brick. It's along the curve by the grassy area towards the bus stops & the walkway to the contemporary. It's in a "safe spot" and still looks good. :lovestruc

They were selling some bricks at DL, but I don't know if they are still doing it. It was a little too steep for me, so I passed. They are no longer selling them here - nor are they selling the tiles at EPCOT.

I love my brick, location is by TTC, which is not that great. We "visit" it here and there. Last year I forgot the # and could not find it. I am sure it is still there.

A former co-worker (at TDS) has one in granite, in the circle with Mickey's head, right at the entrance to MK. I see HIS every trip!

I wish they would do the bricks again.......

I'm surprised after the 10 years they didn't tear them all up and do it all over again. We have one too (at least I think we still do, we never go check on it). I never did the tile thing at Epcot. I was always too excited when entering a park (and too impatient ;) ) and too exhausted when I leave! :)
