This is totally off topic, but you guys always seem to have such good advice.

My DD5 went to the beach about a month ago with my in-laws and ever since she got back, she won't take baths. She's afraid of crabs. I've tried explaining that "no, they can't come up the drain or out the spigot." She says she knows that, but still won't take a bath. She'll take a shower, so it's not that big a deal, but I was thinking about WDW and wondering if she'll be afraid of pools or if it's only bathtubs. She used to have so much fun playing in the tub that I'd like her to be able to enjoy it again.

Thanks.

First of all, you should write this down so that you can remember to torture her with it when she starts dating. :rotfl2:

After that, could you maybe go on a tour of a water treatment facility? Or maybe just do some research about water systems so that she'll see that it's impossible. If nothing else, you could take a spigot apart and show her the screen that's right where the water comes out. Tell her it's there to filter out sea creatures. :)

I would just give her sponge baths until she's ready to try the tub again. I know it's probably a big deal now, but you'll laugh about it in a few months :sunny:

I'm willing to bet that when she gets to the pool and sees other kids splashing and playing that she'll forget all about her fear. I find that my DS2 does things like that all of the time.
