Ok, so Slumdog Millionaire is nominated for Best Picture: What about it's actors? I haven't seen the movie, but with the Golden Globes wins I thought they'd be at least nominated for some of the acting nods. But, that's why I usually agree more with the Globes, they're a little more daring.
I have never heard of Milk?
I think it might be because the 3 main characters in Slumdog Millionaire were each played by 3 different actors (two child actors at different ages and the 3 adult actors) and that they each carried the movie in their own way that it hurt their nomination chances.
I loved the movie and I hope it wins. There was a lot of violence involving children, but it almost in a modern-way Charles Dickens-type way, where society is just cruel to disadvantaged children.
I want Mickey Rourke to win for The Wrestler, but I'm totally disappointed they snubbed Bruce Springsteen's song. That song just embodied the whole story of the movie.
I'm also disappointed that The Dark Knight was overlooked in the Best Picture/Director categories. It was certainly deserving in both categories. It would have been great to see WALL*E get a nod as well.
Sean Penn was excellent in Milk, but Mickey just needs to win.
