Osbourne Lights?

I thought I read a while back about an Osbourne lights mini meet.
Is anyone doing one?? I have never seen them before so I was looking forward to seeing them

Patinmn's itinerary shows the Lights at the same time as DATW. I've been wondering about this conflict, myself.

Yes, I know this is a conflict. Ray talked about hosting the Lights before we knew that DATW was scheduled for Thursday night. We're sitting on this right now and will try to figure out a place to fit this in. Any thoughts are most welcome!

How bout Osborne lights after the Prime Time meet and DAWT Sat during the day or Sunday. Looks like lots of things going on Dec 5 but only a few meets Sat and Sunday. Im hoping Barry does rnr & tot meet Sat or sunday during the day as Im sad the Thrill ride meet and ride the mountain meet are the same time.
Hopefully the Thrill ride meet will end at MGM close to 3:30 for the Prime time meet and then Osborne lights would be great.
Oh how bout DAWT Dec 6 after Buzz lightyear shoot off and then you would already be at Epcot for the Illuminations party??
Dec 8 there is really nothing sch between breakfast and and cm at 5pm. Just a few thoughts.

Deena, DATW is one of the events that is non-negotiable. When I was given the task of making up the mini meet list, I was told that this one had to be on Thursday in order to best fit it in with the offical events. That's where the conflicts come in.
I think the Thrill Ride Tours are trying to end at MGM or at least end so that those who want to attend the Prime Time meet, can do so. Also, if I'm not mistaken the Ride the Mountains meet will be incorporated into the Thrill meet, so it will be possible to do it all.
I love the ideas, keep them coming and I'm sure we can figure something out.

Could you not do Osborne lights before Illuminations Party and then head from MGM to Epcot or is this also cutting it fine?

I like your idea, Sam! The Illuminations dessert party probably won't start any earlier than 8:30 - because Illuminations will be at 9:30. There would be plenty of time to see the Osborne Lights beginning at 6 or 6:30 and still get to Epcot by 8:30.

Okay if we are still going to have the rnr & tot meet--how bout Dec 6 after Buzz Lightyear shoot off--maybe around 3 or 4 then Osborne lights after that and right before Illuminations party?
Sat and Sunday from 9-5 is open too. Anyone heading to AK or want to do a shopping meet? Im ALWAYS up for shopping! lol

Or even rnr & tot Sat Dec 7--that is pretty open but with the dinner at 6pm I dont know if that would be enough time to throw in Osborne lights. What time will it be getting dark then??
Just throwing out some idea's.

I'm all for seeing and doing as much as possible.......I just want to add my experience from last year........it was jam-packed at MGM towards closing time........and it was difficult for a lot of us to get from MGM to EPCOT last year. We were going from our Fantasmic Dessert Meal/Osbourne Lights Tour to DATW......and the crowds were terrible! It can be done, but it will be a challenge.

DH and I had already planned to do Osborne lights followed by Fantasmic after hosting the Prime Time meet on Thurs. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome!. Yeah, it means we have to give up DATW ( sob...snuffle...sniff-sniff....hiccup I was really looking forward to that!) but we know we just can't do EVERYTHING. Besides, it just makes sense when we're already AT the Studios.

4greatboys--how about Shop Around the World?? Or around the parks?!! The weekend is going to be more crowded with longer lines for the rides, which is probably why there aren't more activities scheduled for then. But why not do some heavy-duty shopping say, Saturday, then we can collapse at the dinner??!!

Thanks for the times Towncrier! That helps me in trying to figure out what I can do. So it looks like whoever is going see the Osborne lights will have to go before Illuminations or miss DATW.

Doc and Towncrier are you guys going to join the thrill ride meet after the dvc meeting?? If so I may tag along if its okay. It will be my first meeting and I would like to go.

Tia - MGM to Epcot last year was a zoo because you saw the Osborne Lights with the crowd after Fantasmic. Since there's no dessert party at MGM this year - we could see the Osborne Lights during Fantasmic - then leave MGM before the show ends.

Well, kids, I had my first drink tonight in over 20 years...

::the crowd gasps in disbelief!::

...and won't be repeating the performance.

So I think I'll probably hit Fantasmic and the lights after the Prime Time meet on Thursday, and either walk back to the Swolphin for Karaoke or take one of the Friendship boats.
