Hello!

Does anyone know what time the lights come on at MGM for the Lights Festival? I may have to leave MGM at 4pm -- and am wondering if I'm going to miss the lights.

Also, any thoughts on whether an 18mo old would enjoy the lights? I've never seen them, so I'm not sure what to expect. Does it appeal primarily to adults?

Thanks for your help!

The lights actually stay on all day. But it doesn't really get dark till around 530 so 4 might be a little early for you to enjoy them. Also about the 18 mo enjoying it. Go to the STREET area first where the falling snow is. There are CM handing out glasses and when you view the light different things show up (Usually angels) Kids usually end up loving this. Also make sure you stop in the back street and get a cup of hot cocoa.

In my experience, the Osborne Lghts are not on all day. In at least the past few years, there has been a short ceremony at approximately 6 pm. After that, the lights are turned on.

Maybe they plan to do it differently since the lights have been moved from their former location on Residential Street.

I think an 18 month old would enjoy seeing the lights. Most young toddlers seem to like Christmas lights. It does tend to get crowded - especially right at 6 when the lights first go on for the evening.

Best wishes -

My experience is the same as Carol's - they turn them on at 6:00 with a little ceremony.

OMG you are totally right. They do have a cerermony. And few years back some of the Osbourne family was there to turn them on a couple of nights.

I guess I was thinking when they where setting them up. Or heck I dont know what I was thinking, I just remember seeing them on during the day and saying something to my wife about it.
